Bye bye EL 42's!

Finally aced the Turanza bricks and replaced with Avon Tech 550M A/S tires. Whatta difference! The car rides like a true sports car again and the famous driveline drone is barely audible. Why I drove 17K with those skins is beyond me.

$570 installed for 4 tires. They are quieter, stick like glue and corner 100% better than the EL (Extremely Lopsided) 42's.

Oh, I forgot, bought them at Hi-Tech Tire in Shrewsbury, NJ. Ask for Chris.

Also put on Avons yesterday. Drove about 60 highway miles..felt great! I paid $108 each on Tirerack and had them installed locally for $100.

Great price, but are you planning on using these in the Winter??...I'm so torn in getting some all season or some Summer and hope for the best next Winter...

The past winters here have been pretty mild, and when it does snow, I just don't drive until the roads are clear. I don't care what type of car I would have, I just don't drive while it's snowing..but in a area like MA., I think you have to take into consideration what type of conditions you'll be driving in.

I had some Nittos Extremes all season and I wish they made the size I want , but no luck so I'm leaning towards an "all season" directional...so the search goes on...thanks for the reply...

We just put on Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD's on the car - although only a few hundred miles - we are pleased.

No more tire squealing or howling, less traction control use, and are actually quiet with a greater treadwear than the EL42's. And a rim protector bead that may actually save your rim if you lightly brush a curb.

The tires are not cheap - but if you live in a NO SNOW climate - they are an option.
