Thumbs up Brake Pads- Difference between AT and MT?

Title is pretty self-explanatory.

I ask because the vast majority of the threads where people have recommended certain brands of pads are for TLs equipped with Brembos.

Having an 04 TL 5-AT means this does not apply to me. So I am curious as to whether or not there are certain types of brakes (ceramic, et al) you are supposed to put into models like my own or not. I am coming up on needing a new set of pads soon so any recommendations on a solid set of pads would be fantastic as well.

Thanks!

The MT pads seem to be a softer compound and have high dust.

Most of the recommended brands would be fine for the AT as well. They'll be different parts (made for the AT caliper), but the same brands.

Never tried these, but have seen positive postings when they have been used:

I had these before my racing brake setup and was very happy with them. It was a significant upgrade that when I drove a base loaner for the first time I was a little scared the first time to had to make a quick stop. Yes the Aspec suspension and better tires contributed, but I could definitely feel a braking difference. The Aspecs just seemed to bite harder.

Thumbs up

Well I'm looking for something that isn't so Type-S-ish (if that makes sense). I just use my car for getting around, so I don't have a great need for something that delivers racing-eque performance for my 2004 5AT.

I've heard the DuraMax CMAX Gold mentioned quite a few times, among others, and I'm wondering if that would be a good option. Or, if not, what is.

I'd prefer anything with minimal dust, and something that doesn't break the bank either.

Thanks for your comment, I really do appreciate it!
