Base Rim Clear Brembos

Hey guys did a quick search but came up kinda empty, what I wondering is I have a 08 TLS,

will a 04-08 base Rim clear the brembos, I know that the Base with 6MT came with brembos but where the rims changed to allow this? or straight bolt on with no clearance issues?

and what about the TPMS, do I have to make sure I get 06+ I think it is??

thanks in Advance

I know its abit early for a thread like this but I like to be prepared lol

Yes, all OEM rims clear the Brembo's. And the part number you will need for the TPMS is 06421-S3V-A04

You can contact Bruce (AckTL05) for them. They are $144 shipped.

ok perfect thanks,

for the TPMS I read somewhere that the 06+ rims where different for the TPMS sensors? or are 04-08 all the same?

and would 06421-S9V-A03 be the same for my 08 TLS?

I can get a brand new set still in packaging dirt cheap

The 06-08 rims no matter what style are TPMS compatible. The 04-05 rims are not compatible with TPMS sensors.

Also that part number is not compatible with the Acura TL. That part number only fits the Honda Pilot and Ridgeline.

Check the BM for used TPMS, thought I seen a guy selling some for $100, but IMO, just buy new ones. $144 shipped really isn't that bad. Plus you'll know your sensors will last a long time. Sensor life expectancy is around 5-7 years.

Note, that the 07/08 Base rims clear, BUT are too close for recommended clearance so a 3mm spacer should be added.

Now I found a set of 08 civic rims, same bolt pattern, says offset is +45mm which is sane as ours, anyone ever try it? Wondering if it will clear the calipers, the blade design is pretty much straight they don't concave or anything

I want to see how close this is with a pic or in person, as I've seen the 18x8 TL aspec rims and those clear but with only like 3mm of space, so I'm wondering how much closer the 07-08 base wheels are compared to that.

nope, the SI rims are horrible for bbks, on 03-07 accords they need a 3mm spacer just to clear regular OEM brakes lol, I cant imagine how many spacers you need for brembos
