Aspec Wheels or Trinity Wheels

hi, I wanted to ask you guys what is your choice betwen Aspec wheels (in gunmetal) and the Jaz Trinity 19''

I was going to go with the trinity at first but don't know if its going to be confortable driving here in LA. I love those Trinity but love the Aspec in gunmetal too..... It's hard to decide on some wheels..

Please help... Need your opinions... Thanks in advance..

Of course it has to be lowered with the aspec suspension.

I just put the Hyper Black (some times called Platinum; some times called Gunmetal) on my 2005 SSM and they look great. I think the split spoke looks agressive and fast.

Not yet. I am in the midst of painting my calipers, then I will post pics.

Gunmetal was only made for the 2004 model. The closest color for 2005 and 2006 is the Hyper Black, Platinum or just "A-spec" color wheel. There are also Sparkle Silver and Black Chrome colored A-spec wheels. See this thread for good information on options.

A-spec... for sure. I have them on my 06 anthracite and they look clean. Also, you may want to check out the ronjon wheels.

The A-Spec rims in gunmetal are hard to find. One member on here called Xtin has a set of gunmetal A-Spec rims on her car....she has pics posted of it, just do a search. They look really nice in gunmetal if you can find a set.

I would go for aspec wheels, besides you might get them for cheap from dealers who sell stand-alone aspec suspension.

Wow, there are a lot of tlers that would go for the aspec wheels!! I guess that 18'' are in a way better than 19's.. though I'm a little worried bout the curbing because of the 8.5'' width. Can that just be fixed with 245/40's?

the pic of the aspec you provided is sparkle silver, the lightest color of the aspec wheels. Does AofE really still have the 8.5 aspecs? Do they have it on their ebay store? I do not see it

Oh yeah forgot to mention they come in black spokes with silver studs. So you have 2 colors to choose.

Those trinity looks perfect in your car's color, but when I saw it on a Satin silver metallic I couldn't make my mind. I love how it looks in your car though..

If you want contrast then the Trinity in black finish might be what you are looking for. But I still think the silver Trinity will look nice with your color TL. Another thing is these wheels looks even better in person than pictures. Just thought I let you know. Don't forget the nice lip you get with these wheels compare to no lip at all from the A-spec rims. Oh no, I am starting to sound like a salesman here. Haha!! But either rims will look good on your TL.

i like the smaller spokes of the aspec wheels but also like the design of the trinitys. i'd probably put on the trinity to separate yourself from the aspec cars but its a close decision

thanks for the info, but don't you think that with 255/40's you'll feel that the car is fish tailing at high speeds????

If my memory serves me right I think the Trinity wheels where 25lbs for 19s. How much does the A-spec wheels weigh??? 18's I would assume would be lighter.

I believe Acura of Escondido states A-spec wheel weighs 26.5 lbs each. Not light.

If you ask me, I'd go with the Jaz Trinity. They look much more agressive and complement the lines of the car very well as you can see on ed99's car. (You're welcome, ed. LOL).

kimacuratl, why would 255/40 tires make the car fishtailing at high speed?

aspecs are heavy.. regarding the fishtailing..my friend had a wider tire mounted to his wheels to avoid scratching and stuff and he told me that he had some issues with the car fishtailing.. thats why.. Maybe cheap tires then...

The aspec wheels are really HEAVY. They weigh almost 27 pounds. When i got them i was kind of upset that they were that heavy. With tires, it will probably weigh more than the OEM 17" with tires.

WOw they are really heavy. So I guess that if I either go with the aspec or trinity's the ride performance is going to be the same, as they weight around the same.

Too much of a difference..

Does anyone with the aspec wheels feel any difference on the performance of the car??

And edd, do you feel any difference with your cars setup performance??

^ You have a vendor that can get you the 8.5s? I'd be very surprised, since most places only have the new style 8" wheel. They don't have gunmetal anymore either. The closest color to the gunmetal is the A-Spec color which is like a dark chrome.

Make sure you are getting what you are ordering.
