anyone ever regret getting the A-SPEC suspension?

i really want to get the A-Spec suspension. i'm plannin to do so with my tax returns this year, but before i do, i just need to know if anyone has actually regretted getting the suspension.
all i've been reading about is how people love it. i can't seem to remember a bad post about it.
so, has anyone got regrets? if so, please tell us why.

oh yeah, and another question. what are the long term effects with the Aspec? any extra maintinence or greater chance for wear and tear?

i guess what i'm really asking is

---> What are ALL the negatives about the Aspec suspension???

I'm a very very picky driver when it comes to suspension (had a CT spring setup on my TL-S and hated it ... got rid of it and went back to stock). I installed the Aspec suspension and the CT RSB and just LOVED it. The routine day to day drive was not harsh, and it handled sooo much better:
1) better cornering .. more flat
2) less bounce and buick-esque floating on the highway
3) very agile in lane changing
4) very responsive steering

I have NO regrets.

some don't like the fact that it lowers the rear slightly (1/4"?) more than the front. it doesn't bother me.

some have reported accelerated wear w/ aspec suspension, but a similar percentage had alignment problems w/out aspec. get an alignment as part of ANY suspension mod. you might also consider adjustable ball joints up front, and adjustable lower rr control arms. i have not installed either (yet), tho' i will be. 20k miles on aspec and loved every mile of it. get the Comptech rear sway bar too.

NO. That's because the typical buyer of the A-Spec suspension wants a factory-sanctioned performance suspension, and the A-Spec delivers. I've tried aftermarket (Comptech springs on my 2G TL) and while that works well, to make it work ideally you need new shocks, too.

I've had mine on for nearly two years. I've had no issues and no extra maintenance is required. You install it, drive a couple of weeks, get an alignment, end of story.

None. Zip. Nada.

It depends on what you want. The A-Spec susp is stiffer than stock so on bumpy roads you're gonna feel it, but on nice roads the ride is good. The handling is amazing and thats the really great part. The lowprofile A-Spec tires also contribute to the rougher ride. These tires have less tirewall to absorb bumps and require higher inflation pressures (39 front-36 back). If you can over look the bumps it's a hell of ride. Someone said it best----Handles like a go-cart and rides like one too.

as its said before...there have only been 2 known "concerns"

the fact that it dosn't drop ur car low enough for aesthetic reasons

and

that if u did not get an alignment or didn't get the a-spec alignment because i think the stats have changed...then u will exhibit excessive tire wear...

I forgot to mention the only negative about the A-Spec suspension: It would've been nice for Acura to beef up the rear sway bar for us. Luckily, Comptech has come through for us and you can get the RSB for as little as $95, depending on where you look.

Hey Guys,

I'm interested in installing the ASPEC suspension on my '04 6MT: How much will it lower the car in the front & back. I will be running 17 wheels year round since the roads in Massachusetts are not the smoothest.

Thanks,
TL-Rocket

OMG...never regretted it ever. Highly recommend it.

As for how low will it lower the car...negligible. About 1/2 to 3/4 inch after it relaxes fully. And 3/4 would be on the far side.

I'm here over to the east in Boston. The A-spec suspension will handle anything the OEM suspension can take. I've driven 12K on my A-spec suspension through snow and a couple of potholes without problems. I still have my stock 17 inch rims with the BS EL42s. I did not get an alignment and have not noticed any unusual rear tire wear yet. I will be putting on new tires soon and will do it then. Overall, you will not regret it. It's a nice Euro like feel. Firm but very reasonable. Good luck.

regrets? Heck NO. Honda tuned this A-spec thing just right.
tire wear problem's got nothing to do with A-spec. trouble was few bad bump stops on their stock sets and/or alignment issues. not A-spec related.

people asked this already many times before. i have no problem typing this again. you got the $$$, go get it.

Would the 6MT still benefit from the CompTech Rear Sway Bar?

Not as much as the 5AT, the Comptech is 22 mm and the 6MT's RSB is 20 mm. The 5AT benefits more because its RSB is only 17 mm.
