For Anybody Considering Comptech Springs
For Anybody thinking about buying comptech springs. DO IT NOW!!!! I have the 6spd and accompanied with the comptech sway bar it makes for a great cheap modification.
I was most worried by a compromise in the ride but to my surprise, the ride is amazing. No more bouncing. Handling is awesome. Very precise. It's a must !!!! Will be posting pictures soon!!

i have the same setup...springs and rsb. love it. i got rims on the way so it should look and turn even better.
johanjani, i bought the stuff straight off comptechs website. 110 for rsb, and 240 for springs if i remember correctly.
i installed these things myself. im more like a DIY guy more than anything. and my school has a shop for me to do all this.

I say it's worth the 100 bucks.. i had the bar and the springs done at the same time so i can't be 100% certain how it would be with just the springs

have you guys heard anything about H&R springs....
I see that they are offered on their site and lower the car 1.5in But i cant find any pics of cars droped on 1in so i have no clue what it would look like.
Also... how is the handling... meaning when you really push it does the sedan side of it still trying to shine through.

No.. the springs really do wonders for handling, when accompanied by the sway bar.. i first got the setup with the el42's on and the handling is ridiculous.. taking on ramps and exit ramps at 55 is a beautiful thing... it keep it's composure.. you alway feel in control... can't lose

I wonder if these springs make the TL feel more like a 330i. As much as I despise BMW overall, my test drive in a 2004 330i was eye-opening in terms of how a car's handling and balance really makes the twisties fun.
So how is the ride harshness now that you have the new springs? I still have to haul family and customers around in my TL and I don't want them losing fillings in the back seat.

my biggest fear was harshness.. but it's not harsh.. the more people in the car the rougher the ride will be because the springs will be more compressed and the dampers won't travel as far.. Well take your customers around a tight corner at 55 and they will forget all about the bumps.. honestly though.. you can't go wrong.. the responsivness is great..

camber is to ensure the tires dont wear out in certain spots... its mainly to make sure tire has the correct contact patch on the ground and tires get even wear.

right. camber is the angle of the tire vertically... sport springs will shorten the life of the shocks... .. the sway bar does make a big difference..

Thanks for the info. I was considering the a-spec suspension next year but now I might just get the Comptech sport springs and the RSB... seems like it would be a bit cheaper that way, too, and maybe a less harsh ride while still getting the handling benefits...

Installation?
Is the installation process for the comptech springs the same as installing the A-Spec suspension? Do you have to remove the shock and spring completely? How do you get the spring off of the shock?
Thanks,
Jimmy

is learning to moonwalk i
I've been seriously considering the springs and rear sway bar, but already have enough trouble with scraping the front air dam when going over gutters and into driveways. How much worse it he problem with the springs? I will definitely be doing the RSB in the near future, but not too sure about the springs.

So whats the deal with H&R springs.... how come no one posting about them.???
I'm a big far of H&R products. they are by far better then most companies out there. Plus most race cars use H&R products.

So here is a question ... is the ride with stock struts and Comptech springs less harsh than the A-spec kit?
I test drove an A-Spec kit but in the DC area roads suck and the A-spec was too stiff. How would you rate the Comptech Springs and Stock Struts in comparison? Thanks!
