Advice needed

I'm getting ready to order new wheels this weekend. I'm looking at a set of wheels that are 19x8.5 all around. I'm not sure if they will clear the brakes or not. The shop called the manufacturer and was told that they will fit an 07TL-S. I take this to mean that they will clear the brakes. I'm also not sure what the offset on the wheels is.

1. What offset do I need to clear the brakes and not use spacers?

2. What tire size should I use on this size wheel. The car is not lowered yet, but may be in the future.

Brake clearance is not explicitly defined by offset. Brake clearance is defined by wheel "disk" design, aka "pad clrearance". 8.5in wide, anywhere between +45 to +34 will be fine with a 245 tire, but the BBK clearance will be based on if the wheel is designed to clear BBK.

kennedy is right on
depending on the design, but you can go more genorous on the offset, +32 is the lowest

i'm actually looking at the Ron Jon Legend II or the Inspyre in liquid graphite. They will clear the brakes on the TL-S.

also looking at these. The shop I deal with called the manufacturer and was told they would fit an 07 TL. Obviously I would need to check if they would clear the brakes on a TL-S.
