Add me to Scuffed Rim Dept.
I don't even know when it happened. I was in Jersey and there were a bunch of pot holes on CR-544 so that is where I believe it occurred. It is nt that bad, just on the outer portion of the rim. They are the 18"s so they stick out over the tire. It is not wide enough and deep enough to really tell but I can tell and that is all that counts. I guess this sh*t is going to start happening now that I have had the car almost a year now.

I feel for ya, man. I inadvertently curbed mine in a rain storm the other night....left a nice little 3" scrape on the outer part of my wheel. It was going to happen sooner or later I presume. I'm just thankful we have a quality wheel repair shop here in the city...for $50-75, it will be as good as new.

I was rear ended on the way to the bank and, once at the bank, scuffed a wheel on the concrete lane dividers in the drive through. The rear bumper has long since been replaced, but the wheel scuff irks me every time I look at it.

Yea, mine is not that noticeable, you have to really look directly at the wheel and were it was rimed! But like I said, every little thing that i know about ticks me off and makes me crazy.

good luck.

That is no big deal...I am down to one clean rim...on 18" OEM's!!!!!
I live on an island and the ferries have one lane down each side that gives you about 2" clearance both sides on our wide TL's. The trick is you have to enter at an angle. My wife has taken out two wheels, and I have taken out one myself. Oh well, what can you do. It's only a car!

Since the most recent one two months ago, however, I have not had a single scratch. I'm planning to get the three repaired at a local wheel shop that is supposed to be great, and then hopefully no more (at least for six months).

Where's the wheel shop in Indy? Might be worth the drive and the wait, since I haven't heard of any place around here that does it. The tire shops here would send my wheel to somewhere in NW Indiana. Do they repair while you wait?

Scuffed Wheels in Orlando too!
I have done the same thing on a couple of my wheels by parking too close to a curb to try and avoid dings! If its not one thing, its another! Does anyone know of a company in the Orlando area who repair scratches on wheels?? I would be interested in getting mine repaired if they did a good job.

Whew...I think it was just me who scuffed the damn things (stock ones) 'cause I can't drive (or don't
deserve to!). Anyway, I the scuff was dark and scraped. I smoothed it out a bit with
some steel wool with a little WD40 on it.
I was a bit nervous doing this, bug figured I wouldn't make it look much worse.
Worked fine actually and took out the black mark and the shiney metal blended in
a bit. I'm never parking anywhere outside my garage again!
Can a wheel repair shop really fix this, or wait until the winter's over...that should be fun!

My wife got two, I got one. It's a race to see who can finish off the set. I spoke to the parts guy at my dealer about a local wheel repair shop. He said they usually send them out and it would take a week. What do I do for a week with no wheel!?. He offered me 17" OEM take-offs for $150 per. Actually sounded pretty good to me. But I'd rather wait until all the wheels are scratched and get new 18's.

I scuffed my rear right wheel parallel parking, got the tires rotated and scuffed the rear right again.
I'm glad to hear a tire shop can fix them. It kills me every week when I wash the car. Anybody in Greenville, SC get theirs repaired yet?

You guys can use sandpaper and buff the scratches out yourself. I've done it and it comes out pretty good if your careful (you can't even tell its there!!). However, if your not careful, you may do more harm than good. Good luck!

Sign me up for the club. I was so mad I thought I was going to pop a vein! How much should it cost me to get it fixed? How long should it take? It just makes me sick knowing my car is only 6 weeks old and I curbed it going through the drive thru .... angry ... not doing that again for a long time. Oh yeah, they messed up my order too.

i got my rim repaired by Acura, actually they sent it out to a 3rd party (wheel america I think)- was fixed and back on the car the next day (1 night)... got it back today and I can't even tell anything was ever wrong..
it was scuffed in 2 places, 1 semi deep... cost was $137 in dfw. well worth not getting that 'sick' feeling everytime i was it...

Just thought I would let you guys in on a link that I found a good while back, hopefully it can help some of you out. I havn't tried it myself, but it seems to be an extremely solid procedure to follow.

Sorry for the delay. Racerjon PM'ed me and I gave him the info but for anyone else who's interested, the dealer selling the take-offs was Smithtown Acura in Smithtown NY, on Long Island. I'm sure other dealers have some as well. They probably "forget" to turn them over to the buyer them when they put A-Spec wheels on and the customer doesn't ask for his old wheels.
I've seen that same method of repair (same pics and everything) on a number of sites. I may give it a try this weekend if I can find a good paint match in a spray. Honda touch up paint does not come in a spray can for some dumb reason.

OK - add me BACK to the scuffed rim team, but this time it was NOT my fault...
the damn valet at a very nice hotel/restaurant scuffed my right front wheel Saturday nite!!! i was so pissed, and they didn't even tell me!! I have submitted a claim with the valet company- this may be a fight, but they better make it right...
it just makes me so mad, I just got one wheel fixed, and now another is scuffed
LESSON LEARNED: do NOT valet your car!! about 2 months ago I had a valet lock the keys in my old car with it running! I just have no luck with those valet guys... I'll park myself from now on!

I just did the right rear, I think I might go and do some research on sanding it and touching it up myself. It was raining, dark, and I was trying park too close to the curb. I have done this in the past with my old 98 Camaro SS... *sigh*
It did not look too bad, so I was able to go to work today.

I am now on the list also.
I talked with my local dealer and since I am good friends with all the guys in the parts dept. they will take care of me when I buy a replacement. They have lots of 'take offs' laying around.
The damage isn't very bad right now so I am just gonna wait and see if I damage it further or another one.

add me as well, right front tire, about a half inch scratch, did it down by vietnamese town near philly. My friend was telling me about someone local that could fix it for $60 or so, haven't seen him yet. But one of these day.
