Acura and Mercedes-Benz bolt pattern...

So I have someone with an old CLK class with 20x8.5 front and 20x10 rear with 40 offset but he claims that the rims are 5x114.3 and he is 100% sure. How is this possible? I thought M-Benz's were 5x120? Are they the same thing? Somehow he put them on his ride and said they were off by approx 1mm.. He took off the wheel and looked behind it and all it said was the wheel width and offset but he's 100% sure that they're 5x114.3. I'm just thrown off by the fact that they fit on his CLK.

Any suggestions?

So i'm guessing they will not fit on an 05 TL? How come my seller is so certain that they're 5x114.3 when they were on his CLK...

Sorry tried to fix it and run out of time. M-Benz is 5x112, the Acura RL is 5x120. TL, TSX, RDX & MDX 5x114.3

Maybe is a universal wheel. It can have two different patterns. Are you looking to buy staggered wheels? Check my wheels on the black market.

So the question is, can a 5x114.3 fit on a Benz CLK (not the newer model)? I saw a picture of "5x114.3" on his CLK. He's positive that the rims are 5x114.3

Do you know what year is the car? I checked on tirerack and from 2000 to 07 is the same pattern.

I have seen a lot of postings of people putting MB wheels in a Passat and the Passat I know for a fact is 5 x 112.

Also look here MB Bolt pattern

How would you know by looking at a pix that the pattern is 5x114.3? You would have to look at the back of the rim.

More info

It does not fit. Unless the holes were expanded. And that is a NO, NO.

The guy did look at the back of the rims (sevas, S55 and S22) and it just stated the width of the rim and offset...

This is really suspicious cause he swears they are 5x114.3... yet they're on his CLK. It's not the present CLK model, it's the gen right before that--more rounded body. This is really weird

That site says the CLK is 5x112.

His CLK is year 2000. But he said that the rims were off by a mm.. does that mean that he really did put 5x114.3 ? I need to get to the bottom of this, i have a time constraint

There are a few lexus owners that have ran 5x112 on their cars. The pattern is close enough that if you can use them with slim enough lug nuts. But I wouldn't recommend it.

I have SEVAS S22. 8.5x20, 10x20 with a bolt patter of 5.114.3 and 40 offset. They also come in 5x112 & 5x120. The only other offset on these wheels is +25. Are they selling the wheels that are mounted on the car or are they using that picture as a reference?

Ok .. think of this ... all evidence says the MB is 5x112 ... now he says the wheels are a mm off .. that = 113 which is wrong for everything ....

I think your at the bottom already... if the guy is in town go try one on .. if he is out of town and your doing it on line ... run ... .. if he is putting time pressure on it .. run faster ...

If it was off by even 1mm and they are in fact 5x114.3 he had to enlarge the hole to make it fit. I wouldn't even bother with those wheels. Just my

lol, ok here's the actual sale:
2 S-55s, and 2 S-22s. (2 on left and 2 on right, he loved both so he split up the models).
Fronts are all 20x8.5 and rears are all 20x10 with offsets of 40.

So the final verdict is: They are actually 5x114.3 but he made them fit on his 5x112. If 5x114.3 is bigger than 5x112, then he didn't necessarily "stretch" them, he just got bigger lug nuts? In any case, you guys suggest I run?

My only weak spot for his sale is that he's giving me all 4 rims with tires on them for 1000+shipping. I couldn't pass up this offer.

Probably that's why his selling them so cheap. So let me see if I understand what you just said. You will put the s55 on one side of the car and the s22 on the other?

I wouldn't buy them unless I saw them ... I suspect there is wheel hole damage and if he ran them with bigger nuts he would have had clearance issues with the nut and the socket and the wheel bolt hole.

pretty much yeah, i think it's a nice variation haha they're both my fav models from sevas.

i just don't like the idea of him putting 5x114.3 on 5x112... sounds like he's trying to cheat me

Larger lug nuts won't do anything. Just keep your money, save a bit more and get some other wheels.

I just did some drawing .. I don't think there is enough give in those holes to even fit over the bolts.

Thing you have to remember bout a deal like this is your not seeing them and if they are damaged from miss use etc or not even the right pattern your never going to see this guy again.

So I think i'm gonna pass on this shady offer... will 20x9 (all 4) rims, with 245/30/20 tires fit well with a drop?

It depends on the offset.
Check this guy's threads, his running 19x9 all around.

THOSE are NOT 114.3's
If it's too good to be true, it's NOT!
The guy has two different types of wheels on the car, VERY shady.

PS - I OWNED a 2001 CLK55 just prior to my '04 TL and I can tell you FOR A FACT that the wheels from a CLK will NOT fit a 3rd Gen TL, PERIOD! I can also tell you that the E-series (even the older model ALSO used the 112 bolt patterns). I can ALSO tell you that 20's "DON'T FIT on the CLK's" but they probably "could" fit on an E-Class. I had rolled fenders (all TRUE AMG's come with rolled fenders) and there was no way in heck to get them in there. So, the guy is trying to scam you

Here's a reputable Benz link

Applicable quote from that site where a guy was trying to use some 114.3's on his 2000 E-Class...
"Hmmm...I've never come across bolt adapters for 5x114.3 to 5x112. (I've seen 5x100 to 5x112 or vice versa, can't remember which way they went.) Don't think it's going to happen, sorry. Your best bet is probably to sell those wheels and just get a set of 5x112 wheels for your E-class"

I might be wrong but I magnified the centers of those whells and some nuts looked centered and some look off center ,.. if they were on the car then he never went over 10 MPH.

FYI.. aside from bolt pattern.. which, is almost impossible to put 5x112 on a 5x114.3 or vice-versa without damanging or modifying the wheel...

Benz's are RWD, so you are probably looking at a lower offset (20's, 30's..whatever)

dont do it man!
hell, if you wanted MB wheels, you should have bought my ASA's lol.. perfect replicas...
