Achilles ATR Tires

Hi,

This is a tire question. I am not a noob, but after acquiring a TL, I see to find out that everything is expensive.

I would like to know if anyone on here is running Achilles ATR tires and their personal review.

I’m trying not to break the bank.

Achilles are not high quality tires, but I do know a member on here who's run them (switchfootvz).

yea I don't think they are high quality tires but I haven't heard anyone say anything too bad about them. For the price, I think people are generally satisfied. Not the kind of tire you would use in a high performance car that you would push hard every day, but for a DD, it's not bad. Actually picking up some in a month or 2. I can't get 19" tires in Canada under 1000, no matter what kind, and I got a deal on these 235/35/19 for 670$ for all 4 so I am gonna take the deal.

If you're going to go cheap look at the following:
Summer tire
Accelera Alpha $67.90

A/S tire
Sunny SN3800 $70.50

Certainly wouldn't recommend any of these cheap tires, as performance and durability is questionable, but if the pocketbook is empty, not too much you can do.

I used to run those tires when I had the type-s rims on and when I had my first car

My review:

Pros:
_ Tire are very hard, so they will last you a lot. On my 01 VW jetta I ran them for 4 years and they still had a lot of tire remaining.

- They run good on dry surfaces, but wet when is raining they are not the best tires, but they do their job.

Cons:
- Since they are so hard they dont have a good grip, so if your are going to be doing some aggressive driving, don't buy them, because you wont get good response from them.

my main concern are they loud, do tyhey make noise in other words. I really dont drive aggressive or push my car.
if the threadware is a large number to me its not too significant. I just want a smooth ride with low or no noise.

why not just google the name of the tires and see what comes up. I did it and it found some forums (honda, mazda, ford...) where guys who have the tires put in their opinions, positive and negative.

I already did, just wanted input from te TL community as well. im pretty close to buy them anyways, less than 500 is pretty good for a staggard setup.

Yes they are very noisy, you wont get the quality of a toyo, pirelli etc, they are noisy and they feel pretty hard on the road.
