About to apply Plasti Dip. Quick Question
Im applying it to the stock TL Type-S wheels and not masking off the tire (I took them wheels off the car) and I was wondering when I remove the over spray is it necessary to run a razor around the edge of the rim close to the tire or will it come right off the way I want it. I dont want to do it wrong.
Thanks guys

the simplest and easiest thing to do is MASK OFF THE TIRES.
and like anything in life; there is a slight learning curve.
Once you start spraying; you'll figure out the correct spray pattern and how far away you're supposed to be.
its pretty simple; any cave man can do it.
AND if you do it wrong, simply PEEL IT OFF and start over.
you're going to get it wrong the first time; and THATS okay.
But for me; the simplest thing would be to mask off the tires.
the easy way to mask of tires is with playing cards or index cards. fan them out against the rim

What he said, if you have flash cards, line those around the rim, it'll be a lot easier to do that than go back with a razor and try to clean up the tires.

I didn't mask my tires but part of me wishes I masked part of it. I didn't spray as heavy on the tire as I did the rim so it was kinda hard to peel off of the raised letters and such. You don't need a razor or anything, just start peeling and it'll break where the rim and tire meet.

I did it with 2 but ! If you skimp on the plasti dip you will not be able to peel it off and it will chip easily ! I believe it's suggested 1 can per rim. On a side note when i had left over plasti dip and tried to use it later, I guess plasti dip dried and the hole became clogged. Well partially covered. Not sure if there is a way around this.

The clogging started on me too but i just used a razor and cleared the area.
Oh and fun fact make sure your cans are WARM I didnt pay much attention to it I just thought that was how it came out. I left some cans inside when to class came back and now im doing to back two and a huge difference in the spray.
I bought 5 cans just to be safe. I heard the one per wheel too but got the extra incase I missed a spot or whathaveyou happened.
Ill def post pics when its done. I might redip the front depending how the back turns out lol. I think the black wheels on the KBP looks pretty good.

What I have learned is do Plasti Dip in NATURAL light. Might sound weird but you can see it differently.
How about some coil overs?
