3G Noob question with pictures :)

Honestly probably one of the biggest noob question possible. Go easy on me!

I was changing my oil & rotating my tires when I noticed this.

What is this, and can I replace this with an aftermarket part? I'm on teins if that makes any difference.

Should I replace both sides at once, or is it unnecessary?

I can't see it very well.. is there damage? Take some brake cleaner and spray that area down and clean it up. You definitely want to replace the tie rod if you notice damage. Otherwise don't touch it.

Thanks for the info guys. I guess I'll just replace the one side. Do you guys know if I need to replace the whole rod or just the knuckle that holds the grease in. ?

That is a REAR Camber kit that is aftermarket. I guess you bought this car used with the car lowered and with the camber kit installed? You can replace that camber arm with a new one. OEM stuff never rots like that crappy balljoint boot on that camber kit.

SPC has a camber kit similar to the one shown

That part that is broken is a camber kit. You need to replace the camber kit on that. Does that make sense?

No problem man and sorry if I sounded like a dick in the last post. I would suggest you buy both drivers and passengers camber kit for the rear and replace both. If that one is that bad, the other will be on it's way out. They may only sell it in a pair anyway.
Do you have any pictures of your ride on here? It looks nice with the camber and Tein setup.

Looking at that picture also made me realize that the bolt holding the tierod in straight on the camber bar must have come loose causing it to wear to the front side. That thing should be as straight as you can get it, unless someone installed it wrong.

Actually that probably happened when the kit was adjusted. If you tighten down these arms without being careful about the positioning of everything then you can have this issue. Part of the reason I don't like them and prefer the ingalls instead.

I honestly thought it was a tie rod judging by the tip - guess I should've have looked at it longer too. The rear rotor clearly gives it away...
