20's? would they fit okay please help?
hello all,
i know i said i was sticking with 19's but i got a crazy deal on boss 339 20's with tire would they be okay ?
the rim takes 245/35/r20 but i wanna put on 235/35/r20 would that stretch reduce the overall diameter of the tire n rim?

Depends on the offset of the rim as well, regarding fitment. Yes, the smaller size tire will be stretched a little bit more over the rim than the larger size tire, by a little bit. However, even for a good deal, I wouldn't go with those rims.

245/35/20 will rub... It probably won't matter what your offset is (although offset is also sill important). You'll need 30 series tires, and yes... offset will still matter. 20's MAY dent more easily, but I ran 20's for a long time on some shit roads... I didn't have any problems, but then again it also depends on the manufacturer.

I've been running 20x8.5 with +34 offset and 245/35 tires. They rub occasionally when going on driveways or when the car is loaded down (rolling the fender would cure this). I have no problems with them and no dents whasoever on my wheels. But, I do have to say I have MOZ wheels and they seem very strong compared to others, I can't speak on the BOSS wheels strength.

I have 20's on my 3g tl right now and im running a 255/30/20 and have no issues. The only issue come with brakes and clearance ussues if you have the type s wich i do and it made it quite hard to find wheels that finally fit.

This car was designed to accommodate wheels no larger than 18". Anything over that is asking for an array of problems. Those who've put on 20" (or even larger) wheels have turned out to be the biggest complainers of rubbing, wheel dents & cracks, tire bubbles & tears, blow outs, etc.
But hey, your car, your money................

im running 20" ace executives with toyo 245/35 tires in central NJ...pretty much crappy roads for the most part around here in some areas and i havent had any rubbing problems yet. then again, my car isnt lowered yet but i do plan to drop it about an inch.

are you willing to sacrafice?
Your mpg will drop, will rub and will lift your car.
i have 20's hre and sometimes i love it, other time i hate it.
tires size you should go 30's profile. im running 35 and i rubbed alot untill i put in -6 in the rear camber....tire wear is going to go out fast =\.
offset is also crucial if you go with 20's. although 20 do look good when slam, i would recommend 19s
