Cool 20s will fit, and can be dropped.

i own an 04 6sp TL and have had several people tell me I can't fit 20's on my TL. However, im not looking for big ass bling bling blades or impala looking shit, i've been looking at forged rims or just something nice, but big. ive seen someone that has 20" giovanna capri's and it fits, and he's dropped on i believe comptech springs. he had a rubbing issue but it was resolved. since that would not be my choice of wheels for this car i've researched other and would like your opinions if you don't mind. for a low-budget rim at $2000 with tires i thought of the axis mods 20x9 shown here:

then i saw the boyd coddington f0-1 for $3400 with tires 20x8.5

and the f0-4 same price and 20x8.5

then i saw the iforged aeros which are identical to HRE's i can get them for $3600 with tires 20x8.0 to 20x9.0

or the 6 spoke flux wheels same size same price

What do you guys think????

if you order the iforged, you won't get them fer about 6 months... i'd personally choose the coddington wheels

I have attached a better picture of the Axis Mods which is what I have in mind since I can get such a good price on them. this is a picture of a 20x10, but the 20x9 has the same lip.

I want to have the same look. I would go with iforged....I also like the coddington's. I am going back and forth from 19" Volks (Gram Light 57pro's) to 20" iforged aeros. The Gram Light's only come in 8.5 and 9.5 wide. I really want to do 9 wide all around. I should be able to lower my car with 19's.....I don't know about 20's. I really like GFG's but they will set you back like $6,000. The iforged wheels are a good value. It is hard choosing wheels for the TL because of the offset issue. Wheels can make or break your car....not enough people know this.

I have found the best offset to be the highest, such as 45mm, it will be more inside the car rather than sticking out like a roller skate.especially for my look which is 20's. from the back all you'll see is LIP . i'm really looking at those axis mods because they're cheap, and can get them immediately. the iforge rims are nice but yet 1600 more than the axis rims or more. i can use that for my suspension and my bottle yet it is true that rims can make or break your car.

I feel you on the money issue....I want to get tv's in the headrest for the kids. Thats why I am leaning towards the Gram Lights. Do you think I could do 9.5 in the rear with the right offset?

no way 9.5's would fit without major modification. even then it might not be able to work

boyd coddington f0-1
Iforge Aero or flux

Thoes would be my choices.. If you do any of thoes pls. drop it. IMO you will have the cleanest rims on the 04 TL that i've seen w/ thoes options...

I would never get a car with rims and not drop it. I want to drop it with the H&R Race springs that drop you 2 in the R and 1.75 in the front. Yeah I might rub but I can always fix that in my own way I would definately love the Aero's or the F01's on my car but it can be quite out of my budget, but I might just save a little more for those. Did you see that Subaru on the the cover of super street like 3 months ago? he had the f0-1's in 20:

I just have such easy access to the axis mods cuz they're in stock at my friends shop. but the boyds really caught my attention on that suby. i also wanna juice the fock out of it so that's some more loot. i wanna add a tv brain to the navi which i've seen it work so i can use it as a TV, then maybe a flip down or headrests for my daughter

1.75 front and 2 in the rear? that sounds pretty retarded, check out the eibach sportline (not sure if they make it yet though). if the h&r race is like that, it'll look pretty weird. if anything, the front should be much lower than that to give it an even look since the front wheel well is larger than the rear.

anyways, just noticed you were in miami, fl... me too! if you've seen a silver TL-S (body kit, dropped, spoiler, tint) converted to a Honda Inspire... thats me and if you havent and by any chance you do in the future... be sure to honk!

taking your advise i went back to the site and i was wrong, it's 2.0 in the front, and 1.75 in the rear.l i've always been a fan of the H&R Race springs and they have never given me problems. but yeah im in miami and if i'd still have my 350 i'd honk my train horn and make you remember you still have a heart pumping inside of you

go to hrsprings.com and you'll see they also have a sport spring but the race spring has always been badass

350 thats my dream truck there are a lot down here. what did urs look like?

i have eibach pro kit on my tl right now but i want to switch the front ones to the eibach sportline. it looks a bit uneven since the fender is larger than the rear one. so i have like no gap in the rear and like a 1.5 inch gap in the front.

Here's a blah picture of it with 22.5's and a 6 inch fabtech lift. Shortly after I did a body lift and put 24.5's. I have some hard pictures of those, gotta scan them.

I also had an Alpine indash TV with a punch 1000 and 2 RF 12's. HID's, 2004 everything, and ofcourse my train horn

I just sold it like last month cuz I made a good chunk off of it. I paid off somethings for my house and the rest im saving...

the hubcentric adaptors are about $1000. They weigh about 40-50 pounds each. You will only need 4. My tires were like 255/80/22.5 i think. i dont remember. but on these tires the measurements work differently, it's almost like opposite. the 80 is the width and the 255 is the height. air suspension on this truck will run you some good bucks. just to get it from stock, to those rims/tires/adaptors and lift was 4k. i believe the badass air suspension for this truck is like 6-7k, just suspension. I found some OOOOOLD pics of when i brought it home the day it was lifted at first. i dont even have the center caps on.

mind you these are very ooooold, definately over a year

I have 20's on my TLS but I cannot post the pic, it is too big. If anyone can post it e-mail me and i'l send you the pic to post. I did have a little rubbing at first, rolled the fenders and no problems. Also, they are for sale, they have less than 2,000 miles on them and look brand new.

sorry about that I reposted his pics by mistake. i dont like them either but to each his own. i can't wait until I get my rims, slap some TL's around. my disclaimer to that is that i dont hate on others yet each have their own taste, and to some common people, good taste is common sense. my TL w/kit slammed on 20" iforge alluminum rims w/100 shot.... omg =X

That's because you've never seen a clean TL with 20" HRE 540's. those pics of that TL are not mines, i was just asked to post them. I personally don't like those rims. offset is off, too much chrome, and to much bling. I've already had measurements made for my car from iForged. it's going to take some time and some money, but I'm still debating. I'm going to have 20x8.5 Aero "High Polish" with a 51mm offset made for my car. the price is what's holding me back. With tires I'm just over 4k.

here's a pic

this will slap any 19" wheel around anyday

u cant go any lower with the offset?

20x8.5 with a +45 would have a nice lip.

being that I wanna go low, quite low, they advised me to go with a 51mm offset so the rims can tuck inside the wheelwell. the rims still have a very nice lip. he said that the lip would look like the picture above, or slightly bigger. i agreed with that. however I am still debating the rims because the price is kinda outta my budget, but i can always save a bit more. Like I had mentioned before I was considering the Axis Mods 20x9 with a 45mm offset. i get them for 2k - $2200 with tires. that price has me leaning towards axis. again, here's the pic of a 20x9 axis mod.

20x9 w/ +45mm offset and you think you won't rub?...I've seen 20's on a TL and trust me...they just don't belong on a TL, but everyone has their own taste...You have yours and I have mine. It is all good with me if you want 20's on your TL, but don't expect everyone to like it...but hey, why should you care? It is your car do as you please.

Oh and that HRE rim wouldn't slap every 19" rim anyday...just my opinion.

He didn't show a pic of HRE's, they are one of the best made wheels period! Of course you will pay $1,200 and up per wheel for 20's. You just can't beat forged multipiece wheels. Go for the Iforged Faston20s, they will be worth the wait.

faston20s: considering the a-spec wheels are 18x8.5 with a +45 offset... im pretty sure you can get away with 20x8.5 with a +45 offset as well.

oh my bad...should have said so...I refrain all my previous statements...I thought you guys were talking about a 2nd gen TL, in which then the rims would have rubbing issues like a mother. My bad you guys...didn't know.
