Question 20" Chromes?

hey all, i went to some rim places today... i wanted at least 18" chromes, possibly bigger. The guy says that 20's will fit as long as i dont drop it... have any of you put 20's on your tl's... i have a 2002 type s... also is it worth it for the extra money to have 20" wheels? the guy said that hes put 20's on a tl-s before... but i want to make sure that there is no scrapping on the wheel well or other areas... thanks in advance

oh yeah... the wheels im looking at are the Katana Spasio and the Katana Destiny... which would u all choose......

thanks

How wide are the rims, and what's their offsets? What size tire are you putting on? If he's put 20's on a TL before, I wish THAT guy would post on here so we could see them.
If you don't mind having a very small sidewall, go for it. I would have the guy put tires on two of those wheels, one for the front and one for the back, and see if they rub, how they look, and everything. With that size of tire, I wouldn't want any wheel gap.

im looking at 3 dif. rims, so all the widths are different. the Genx Exxen are 9", the Katana Spazio are 8.5", and the Katana Destinys are 9.5". and as far as the offsets i dont know. the difference between the profile of the tires appears not to be noticable between choosing 18's or 20's, in other words id be running on the same amount of rubber. im going to go back and get more info... thanks for the advice...

well in my opinion i think that 20's will fit.. i have 19's now but the wheels still look small to me... im running 235/35/19.. my rims are 19x8. I can tell u one thing though anything over 8" wide is too big IMO. but i do think that the TL's can take 20's try and see..take a pic and post...i may try next time i go to the shop since im selling my wheels

LOL! Now that you mention it, I remember someone on this forum had 20 inch rims. I think they were Niche or something....
Search for the pic, its really old so u might not find it.

I think 20's will look extremely weird on a TL:yack:

Before looking for a 20" wheel that you like, I suggest you go tire shopping first. FYI - the smallest 20" tire is 245/35-20 which is over 1" taller than the stock setup. Until they make a smaller 20" tire, going with 20's ain't the best replacement fit.
