1st Experience Report on Nokian RSI
I recently installed Nokian Hakkapellitta RSI 205/60-16 with Black Steel rims on my TL and had my first hands-on experience on driving back to Montreal from Toronto yesterday afternoon while it was snowing and the left lane of the 401 was icy.
The tires are very grippy on both acceleration and braking. If it would not have been for the traffic and the stupidity of the other car drivers on the highway at the time, I could have driven at 110 to 120KM/H easily. It took me almost 5 hours to get to Kingston.
Some people from Ontario will have to explain why is the slower moving vehicles are hogging the left lanes.
The traffic was spreaded on all lanes and travelling at the same speed between 40 to 80Km/h between the intersection of Dixon-401 to Kingston.
Once I cleared Brockville, traffic eased off and I speeded up to 160Km/H all the way to Montreal.
The tires are very quiet, and could only made to spin on ice when you forced them Traction control light was lighted up).
Even if the black steel rims is not the best choice astectics wise, the performance of those tires on slippery/icy roads is very good.
