What width tire should i run with these rims? 225? 235? 40? or 45? The are Mille Miglia action sports by the way. Also any suggestions on brand of tire I'm a Michelin man anyone reasons why I should change?

the offset for the rims ur looking at will not fit our cars, it is safest if we go with a +45 offset, but the offset on the action sport is a +30. Any tires with those wheels will definitely rub.
225/40/18 is the most common config but 235/40/18 gives the closest overall diameter. Personally I am interested in a 18 by 8 wheel with a +42 offset on 235/40, but i am afraid this config will rub as well even without lowering the car, the easiest thing to prevent rubbing will be to trim the tabs at the rear wheel well.

I'm pretty sure the action sports are a +40 offset which will work with a spacer. I hope.

The spacer goes between the rims and the mount/axle to give more clearence from the wheel well to stop rubbing.

then aren't spacers designed (suitable?) for high offset rims, so that they'll stick out more
i believe that the trend is if we put low offset rims on our tl, we'll rub against the inside of the fender not the wheel well , so by putting spacers it will worsen the situation

18x8 +40 will never work. The spacer will make the offset even worse (stick out even more) You should look for another wheel.

Yeah it'll work but it will look terrible. 18s without a drop make the car look like a SUV.

The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 6mm LESS
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 32mm (1.26")

no one really knows unless someone ends up buying it. according to nsxnext's sig, he has 18x8s with 50 offset and 225 tires. using this, not only are you going with a wider tire and a lower offset, those things could mean rubbing. anyone that has put 8s with a 45 offset on their car, they have rubbed with 225 tires...

i have 18x7.5s with a 42 offset and 225/40 tires. i rubbed (albeit very little after some trimming) lowered on eibach prokits. it was not until recently do i not rub anymore...i ended up trimming more. again, you are going wider rim and wider tire so i am gonna say you will rub unless you modify the bumper.

it sounds like you might be set on some rims...if you got to have them, then get them.

what about times when the suspension compresses ENOUGH due to bumps and impacts, and it rubs??? it's kinda like the stock setup...honda uses a narrow rim and super high offsets.
