18" Tenzo R Type-M rims

Hello all!

I just got myself some Tenzo R Type-M rims. Yay. Unfortunately they don't clear the front brakes on my 6spd TL . I did a test fit and knew they wouldn't clear front brakes but figured a 5mm spacer would help, but it's still not quite enough. I didn't realize I needed to get extended studs to go above 5mm so this bumps up the total price quite a bit since I'd want the spacers on the back as well for proper looks.

I've been looking at my options and found this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-25mm-Hubce...8e4312&vxp=mtr

25mm is overkill but the same seller also has 12mm spacer which I think will look nice. Now, I don't know much about spacers so I've got some questions...

- How does this type of spacer attach to the hub? Do the bolts that come with them hold it in place on the stock stud?
- My stock studs will extend past the spacer but my wheels have two bolt patterns - 5x114.3 and 5x112. Will my stock studs fit through the 5x112 holes so I don't have to cut them short?

Any help is appreciated... Thanks guys

Spacers like this are simple to install. The holes cut in the spacer are for your stock studs to go through. You then use the bolts that are included to hold the spacer onto the stock studs. The wheel then gets put onto the studs that are integrated into the spacer itself.

If this company sells 12mm version 2 spacers (studs integrated) DO NOT BUY THEM!! People have run 10mm V2 spacers and they broke because there is not enough metal to hold the integrated studs in place and too much stress is placed on them. The thinnest V2 spacer you should use is 15mm.

So my overall advice is to get 10mm V1 spacers that comes with extended studs and do it the right way. You can install the studs yourself, it's really not that difficult. Here is a write up on how to install the extended studs. https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-tires-wheels-suspension-97/d-042-3g-front-rear-extended-stud-install-843718/

I see, thanks for your help. I was hoping I found a shortcut, but I guess not.
