'04 TL with G37s wheels & tires, sizes.
i have posted before about my 04 tl with infiniti 19" wheels and tire. i bought the car from a private seller with them installed already. the wheels and tires are all OEM from the g37s. here is the problem (if it is one)
The g37s setup with the tire sizes are
FRONT 225/45R/19
REAR 245/40R/19
this is the same setup size for my car (front & rear).
should i change anything
Get new tires matching the same size (i'm planning on buying new tires in the summer anyway)
or change the rear to front & front to rears?
i'm a total noob about wheels and tires this is why i'm here asking for your help.
thank you all

I believe those specs on the G37 sport:
Front 8.5 +43mm
Rear 9 +45mm
Leave them as is. The rears actually split evenly when compared to the 8" +45 TL wheels, and the fronts are only off by 2 mm compared to the TL centerline.
The only problem is the tire size which is leaning more to a RWD vehicle. When replacing the tires I would suggest sticking with a 245/35-19 all around to keep more closely to the 25.7" diameter as the G37 tires are about 1" taller.
Maybe someone else will have some other ideas.

I would keep the 225 and 245 widths for the front and back, but change the tirewall to a 35 series. The thicker the sidewall, the more you throw off your speedo. It's not a huge amount, but more than you would want.

^That's what I would recommend doing. For tires, I opted to get a set of All-Season tires with a good treadlife warranty. I got a set of Kuhmo Ecsta Platinum which come with a 60,000 mile warranty. If you are looking for more of a performance tire, I can't help you too much there, but I'm very happy with the Kuhmos.

Why would anyone install a 225 on the front of the TL when the minimum width should be 235, and especially since it's a FWD vehicle with almost 70% of the weight on the front wheels/tires? Maybe someone could explain the thought process.
Also with the 225/35 and the 245/35, the rear tires will be over 1/2" taller, and that in itself would look rediculous.
Rethink the decision.

Bumping this up for I have a set of these on the way and am in the market for tires.
I'm thinking 235/35's all around would be good, unless I should get a 245 for the 9's?
Also stupid a question as it may be, I wonder if I put the 9's in the front? Performance/common sense wise I would say so, but aesthetically I'm not sure...
Insight?

245's sound good to me. I think the 235's wold look stretched anyways, something I would like to avoid.
Yes I'll post all sorts of pics, I'm getting antsy, I saw a G37 tonight when I got out of work, very exciting (shut up, not many of them around here ) I hope to have them on in a two - three weeks.
I have to play around with what I need for spacer over the Brembo's, from what I read it looks like 10mm, I like to get way with 5mm if I can, if not, go with the bolt on Ichiba 15's.

Are you folks using stock lug nuts with all of these Nissan/Infiniti these wheels?
I was looking at these:
http://www.amazon.com/McGard-84537-C...tive&carId=001
However is says for aftermarket wheels only, but I would think my G37's don't really qualify as aftermarket...
Any insight?
I do have 64.1 - 66.1 hub centric rings and a set of 5mm and 3mm spacers coming to mess around with, so 'wheel' see HAHAHAHAHAHA

Had the tires installed today, went with 235/35 -19 for the front and 245/35 - 19 for the rear. Tried to install them but stock lug nuts will not work. I need lug centric nuts which I ordered today from Advance for $21.xx with tax.
The 3mm are soooooo close to clearing, if you were to either grind away a little bit from the caliper or the inside of the wheel they would work. The wheels will actually spin with them but they scuff up the caliper.
So with the special nuts and 5mm spacers, i think this is the ideal setup for these. I'll get good pics, they're gonna look siiiiiick!

Definitely needs a drop now, not sure what, but it needs it.
Here's what you need, tires are just suggested sizes, whatever brand, do what you want:
(2) 245/35 - 19 Nankang NSII - Rear
(2) 235/35 - 19 Nankang NSII - Front
(2) 5mm 'Akata' (ebay brand) 5x114.3/64.1 Bore spacers - Front
(2) 3mm 'Akata' 5x114.3/64.1 Bore spacers - Rear
(20) Mr. Lugnut 'Lug Centric' Nuts, 13/16" Drive M12 x 1.50, Special order from Advance, *Will edit with part number later
I think that's it, I have hub centric rings, haven't used them yet, rides quite good.

Lug nut part number is 'Mr. LUGNUT 5195-4' for a bag of 4 nuts, 5 bags required, because you didn't know that you car has 20 nuts :P

Looks great man, could you use the 5mm spacers both front and rear? Also could you use the same size tires front and rear? I'd like to do this fo rmy car, those are actually the only rims my wife and I agree on.

You need 5mm spacers in the front if you have a 6MT. I guess you could use some 5mm spacers in the back, I'm going to put the 3mm ones back there some time.
Looks pretty flush as is.
I would use the 245/35's the people before have mentioned all around. If I was to redo it I would put 245 35 on the front and 255 35 on the back.

Now that I'm used to them, I'll get a feel for how much power I lost when the stockers go back on.

Thanks, yeah it does need a drop bad, I can't decide which route to choose, coilovers or shocks, but I'm taking them off next week after Honda Day, probably going to sell them anyways. Like I said before I LOVE how they look, but too heavy for my taste.

before, the drop looked weird having 225 45 19 front and 245 40 19 rear (h&R sport spring). i hated the look because those tires were from the origina oem g37s and had a weird size. now after doing this i cannot believe i did not do this before. the drop is nicee. it look lower in the front than in the back, because of the design of the body. i'll still install the koni sp3 and do a lilttle lowerrr.

here is my tl 04 converted (mostly) to type s
is running on stock shock with H&R sport sprint. The drop is mostly perfect for street driving. i would really like to install the koni yellow to drop 1/2" more but new york streets are to harsh. i might install it next summer if i still have the car.
I hated the drop while running stock g37s tires. now that i replace the tires with a all-around 245-35-19.

Hey Guys,
Looking through all these threads I picked up a set of wheels and was wondering what type of lug nuts you guys used to mount G37 wheels to the 3G. It looks like it takes a 12x1.5 Mag style Lug, with 21mm width shank. I have been looking everywhere but no luck. Just wondering what you guys used???
