Well, got an update from my service advisor saying that the reason why I couldn't crank was because there was a loose connection inside the fuse box, which was what they had replaced on Monday, that was the culprit. In order to fix that, they had to play around with the male-female connectors because it wasn't connected tightly. And the reason why I couldn't crank was because one of the guys who had pulled my car up had hit the fuse box with his foot and made the connectors loose. I smell After that was "fixed", he said it started right up. Sure it starts, but how does it drive and start after it's been driven?

So, the service advisor is driving my car home and will let me know in the morning. After he gives me a status report tomorrow, I'll tell him to hold onto that car for a couple more days and after numerous test drives to make sure everything checks out. Afterall, I don't want to get to know my tow truck guy (same one all 3 times) that much now.

^ Yeah . . . me too. My service rep just gave me an update saying that the car started right up for him this morning and he was able to make it into work without a problem. He's going to keep it again for another night and perhaps I can go pick it up around lunch time tomorrow. He also said that he doesn't normally like the TL, but he had liked what I had done with it, especially the rims and suspension. So, there are some props right there.

This sounds alot like an ignition/security problem I had on my Civic. The security was messing with a relay that was tied to the ignition. Dash lights would not come on nor would the car start. The headlights, dome light and radio would still work. I would have the service guys make sure the security is not the culprit.

Finally was able to bring my car into the dealer and they took an hour to look at it. Turns out it was the battery. Didn't think it was going to be that easy. Even better was that it was under warranty!! So the battery was replaced, computer reset and that's it.
Never thought it would be the battery because the lights never dimmed. Only problems I saw was that the clock took a couple seconds to syn and my Valentine 1 hidden LED display stayed brightly lit. Well, thanks all for sharing all the info.

I hope that's not the case since I gave the service advisor my second set of keys with the key fob on it. So he should be locking/unlocking the car with the fob and starting it.

And tekageek, I'm glad to hear that it was something simple rather than this electrical nightmare I had to go through. Hopefully, third time is really a charm. *knocks on wood*

I had to do this today with my car; where did you hear about that?
I took my car to the dealership on Wednesday for a D service and today my car won't start. When I try to crank it a few of the dash lights blink and the rest are all out, including the blue LEDs for the gauges; the engine cranks a few times and then goes completely dead. I did this a few times, then put the car in II and turned on the lights. Everything worked fine for the five seconds I did that, then I tried starting the car and it worked, but it started real hard. Tried starting the car up 5 hours later and it was doing the same thing again. I wrote an email to the service department to get me in there Monday morning.

Sorry for

I was told that the reason for the hard start is due to the ULEV; thus, putting it on the on (II) position for a couple of seconds before starting it would help with the ULEV timing. Regarding your situation, did you check to see if it's not your battery by turning on the lights and trying to crank it to see if the lights dim? If that's the case, then it could be your battery rather than the electronics which was what my problem was.

After picking up my car yesterday, everything starts up fine and I had just come back from hanging out with some friends an hour away. The car started up beautifully every time.

Trance, this weekend, a local member came to my house to install lowering springs.
We had an Inverter plugged in to power a laptop, with the keys in the ignition. About midway through the day, I unplugged the inverter and took out the keys.

When we were done with the install, we put the tires back on and lowered the car. Car wouldnt start. I gave a jump. car started but noticed that a headlight and sidemarker were out.

the next day he informed me that his radio went out, navi went out, key fob went out, and wouldnt start.

I suspected the battery was in play.
he got it checked out yesterday and said his batt. is fine.

He lives about an hour away from me. I'll tell him to read this thread and jiggle his fuse box!

Cool. Hope that works for him and he doesn't have to shell out $$$ if he's out of warranty.

He texted me today.
Brought his car to the dealer, all is well.
Bad battery terminal cable and some fuses were messed up.
