XM Radio skips stations

Hi All,
Longtime, original owner of a 2004 TL with 66k original miles. The car has performed flawlessly to date (knock on vinyl).

Anyway, for the last few weeks when I turn the dial to tune XM stations, the radio skips some stations, or returns me to where I started. For instance, if i'm on channel 9 and i turn to 11, it skips to 14, then returns me back to 9. If I'm on 175 and turn to tune in 176, it sends me to 149. I "can" use voice activation to tune to these channels. And if I set 12 as a preset, i can get to it by using the touch screen.

I searched and couldn't find anyone with a similar problem. Anyone have any ideas? I thought about pulling the battery cable to see if it will reset the system.

Have you tried hitting the "mode" button on the screen? That changes the settings to channel or category. If it is set on category it will skip stations, only giving you the first channel f each genre.

That's what it is. It is probably cycling between the same category of music. If there is "category" in the above display, then that's your problem.
