XM button, and other electrical problems

I press the XM button but nothing happens. I've had a iPod adapter hooked up to the XM interface for a year and a half with no problems, now suddenly I cannot select XM.

In possibly related problems:

--My FOB suddenly became unlinked...which I had to relink by pressing the lock and unlock buttons at the same time.

--This has happened randomly three times recently: I start the car and the radio and a/c are off despite being on when I last used the car. I'll turn the radio on, and the upper display will only show the radio station for a few seconds then go off. Same with the CD player. Radio and CDs play fine. The clock works fine.
As of now, the radio and CD player are displaying normally.

--Perhaps the most serious: The car has recently started to "wha wha" a couple of times before it starts. It's like a sluggish start due to a bad battery. But I've had the battery, starter, and alternator checked at the dealer and everything is fine.

Sorry for the long post. I was at the dealer all day yesterday and they couldn't replicate the problems, but I know something is wrong. Everything is working ok now except for the XM button problem which is probably a sign of something bigger. Thanks for any help.

Have you tried really cleaning the battery terminals both on the battery & cables even if they look clean. you might have a grounding issue.

I get the non response XM button from time to time also. I just take the neg off the battery to reset and it's all good. I only started using it when I changed over to sirius and I bought the car used, so I dont' know if it's always done it since new.

Thanks for the replies.

I've cleaned the terminals. The dealer also said there was nothing wrong with the wires. I suspect the battery could have a bad cell that hasn't come up in tests--but I wonder how that would affect XM radio functionality.

There is another symptom that I have just noticed: When I start the car, the clock shows 1:00pm for a few seconds, no matter what time it is, the corrects to the actual time. I don't know how long this has been happening, I may have just noticed it.

When I first posted I thought this would have been a familiar problem, now I getting pretty worried.

So the battery was bad. I got it replaced and everything else is working fine.

So my only problem is the XM button. I cannot switch to XM anymore.

Can you get to XM using the Mode button on the wheel? That's what I almost always use--I've probably used the XM button twice in four years.
