wth...brakes..
hi i was going about 20 mph all the way on the right lane and this guy in front of me pulls into popeyes..i thought he was going to turned in all the way by the time i get near him..so i sped up..little did i know...he STOPPED! RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF the driveway of popeyes and the street..i had to slam on my brakes..the tires didn't make any noise but i heard a loud *THUNK* when i braked...can anyone tell me is the deal??? THANKS alot

Anti-Lock Braking System.
When the ABS is engaging to avoid tire lock-up, you will hear thumping and the brake pedal pulsing if it is a long stop and one or more of the tire is trying to lock-up.
threehr, the ABS may had a very short time period in which the tire lock-up occurred before you came to a stop that you heard the thump and may have not noticed the brake pedal pulse.

Maybe he did'nt notice the brake pedal pulse because he was busy loading up his pants.
