The 07 TL calls for an 1157 yes? just got 1157 switchbacks pulled my parking light and got this..

 

That looks like a 7443 from the earlier model 3rd gen lights.

Your Base tl uses 7443...

1157 is for Type-S...

 

How would my car have bulb sockets from an earlier model. It's not like it's been in an accident and they had to change the socket

That sucks. Are you looking for leds or amber bulbs in general? I just bought a pair of chrome amber bulbs. Should go perfect behing my clear diffusers.

I wanted LED switchbacks.Problem is I bought these from a member on here so Probably not going to be able to return them So I guess hopefully I can sell them back on here-

 

The Sylvainia guide is fuxored.

They originally listed '04 - '08 with the same fog lights (they're not; '07/'08 have H8). I emailed them and they corrected it several months later.

I haven't trusted them (or any generic fitment guide) since.

 

What you think about cutting off my 7443 sockets and buying an 1157 socket and wiring that in ?

 

If I were you, I'd just sell the 1157 and buy 7443s.

 

I threw them up in the for sale thread . hope someone buys them otherwise I'm just sitting on 50 dollar switchbacks I cant use

 

Does anyone actually know why Acura would have 2 different bulb types for the base and type s? Really makes no sense why they would change it

 

The base TL and Type-S do have different headlights with different types of diffusers for the turn signals, but I'm not sure why they need to be different. I think the Type-S signals are actually amber bulbs as opposed to clear bulbs that illuminate amber behind the diffuser. Could be wrong though. Either way, you'll have them sold in the BM soon. People love switchbacks.
