I have a 2004 6MT purchased on August 18, 2004. So back in August 2007 my horn started sounding weird, too high-pitched, so I took it in and found that the low horn driver had failed. It was replaced under warranty. Car had 37,486 miles at the time.
On Friday it started sounding exactly the same as it did when I had the prior problem. I now have around 53,500 miles (I'm driving a lot less right now than I used to).
I intend to have the dealer fix it under my extended warranty, but my question is if anybody has any idea what might be causing this to happen. The horn should not crap out twice in 53,000 miles, even with heavy use (more often than not I blow the horn at someone at least once every time I drive, usually at a cell phone user who doesn't go when the light turns green).
