Unhappy WTF-cracked dashboard

Okay so i need some serious help! I walked out to my car this morning and noticed a 12inch crack above my passenger airbag! I called acura corporate and they said that since i bought it from an independent dealer that it was just common wear and tear and that there was nothing they could do to help me. This is bullshitttt. I've had the car now for not even 7 months and it just broke 100k miles. Florida sun is no joke but there has to be something else i can do. I adore my car and i always put up sun protector when i leave it in the sun but still got a crack.! Help! i dont have the $1800 to replace it. Someone please help!! In the mean time i've been using turtle wax ultra sun protectant! what else do i do! Help asap!!!

The only solution I can think of now that it's already happened is to get a nice dash cover.

If you get a good one that fits the TL just right it doesn't look bad at all.

I typically don't like dash covers most of the time .... but I have seen someone's TL with one on it. Don't know what brand he had but it actually looked really good and fit perfectly, I was impressed with it.

Call an automotive upholstery shop, they can fill/fix it.

Replace it or get a dash cover (way cheaper).

the generation of self entitlement.....

so, you bought a used car, mind you they stopped production on these cars

and you want them to fix something on a 9 year old, 100k mile vehicle for free?

They fixed mine free, but I took it back to the dealer I bought it from new and where I had all my service done. He didn't even bat an eye. In and out in one day with a complete new dash.

You should look into your control arm bushings while you're at it.

It's wear and tear.

And there are plenty of other threads on this topic already. It has been beaten to death over the years. Although I'm sure I will post a similar rant when mine finally gives out and cracks.

Just replace it. Its funny to me that people get so mad about it. I know I would be mad too but it is bound to happen at some point and of course Acura will not warranty the car forever.

Its like when people complain about the dashes in Ferrari F355 shrinking. Its happens to all of them at some point!

You can either do it yourself, or next time you need a car buy it brand new for full price from a dealership, take it to them for every ridiculously priced service and $80 oil change, and then when something goes wrong when its out of warranty... they might just decide to help you out

That happened to my TL and my boyfriends TL. If it really bothers you get it fixed or just get a dash cover
