Windshield wipers quit working ?
2005 Acura Tl :
They worked fine yesterday, but when I turned them on today they didnt do anything. Is this a common problem ? Where is the wiper fuse located in our panel ? Just trying to figure out if it is something besides bad motor before I purchase one.
Any help will be greatly apprieciated...

Yea there is a recall on this.
RECALL: 2004-2005 Acura TL
NHTSA Campaign Number: 08V092000 Manufacturer AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO. Recall Date: FEB 26, 2008 Potential Number Of Units Affected: 129600 DescriptionVISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER:MOTOR SummaryHONDA IS RECALLING 129,600 MY 2004-2005 ACURA TL VEHICLES. IF WATER ENTERS THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR BREATHER PORT, WHICH IS DESIGNED TO ALLOW THE MOTOR TO VENT WARM AIR DURING NORMAL OPERATION, IT CAN RESULT IN CORROSION INSIDE THE MOTOR HOUSING. THIS COULD CAUSE A FAILURE OF THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT BREAKER INSIDE THE MOTOR HOUSING ConsequenceIF THE CIRCUIT BREAKER FAILS, IT WILL CAUSE THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR TO BECOME INOPERATIVE, WHICH CAN INCREASE THE LIKELIHOOD OF A CRASH IN CERTAIN CONDITIONS RemedyDEALERS WILL INSPECT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR FOR SIGNS OF CORROSION. IF NO SIGNS OF CORROSION ARE PRESENT, A SNORKEL TUBE WILL BE ADDED TO THE WIPER MOTOR BREATHER PORT TO PREVENT WATER FROM ENTERING THE WIPER MOTOR HOUSING AND FOAM TAPE WILL BE INSTALLED ON THE COWL ABOVE THE WIPER MOTOR TO DIRECT WATER AWAY FROM THE WIPER MOTOR. IF SIGNS OF CORROSION DAMAGE ARE OBSERVED ON THE WIPER MOTOR, THE MOTOR WILL BE REPLACED, AND THE BREATHER TUBE AND FOAM TAPE WILL ALSO BE INSTALLED TO PREVENT WATER INTRUSION ON THE NEW WIPER MOTOR. THE RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 28, 2008.
Dude, do you not have an owner's manual?
And if you pull of the fuse box cover, there is a diagram there as well...
Look in the TSB section for the recall. You should have received a letter, unless you bought this 2nd hand.
Book mark this link for future reference. Most of your questions that can't be answered by simply opening your owner's manual can answered by looking at those links.

As mentioned, yes. BUT you have to be in the VIN range.
List of TSB's/Recalls on this page: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/3g-tl-technical-service-bulletins-tsbs-3g-garage-j-016-a-613659/
Follow the instructions at the top of the first post, then open TSB 08-013. Check the VIN range there.
That VIN range is crap. My car was one of the first ones to have the wiper motor fail and needed to be replaced. About 6 months after mine was replaced, they issued the recall. When i put my VIN in, it said that my car was was not with-in the range, or something like that.

Perhaps the A02 part is also flawed/prone to failure, but there is no recall on that part. Anyone who has a failure of the A02 part can request a defect investigation by the National Highway Transportation Safetly Administration (NHTSA) - they are the agency that initiates recalls forces complicance.

That's not exactly right. '04 and early '05's had part number 38512-S3V-A01. The replacement part, as part of the recall, is 38512-S3V-A02. (I think those part numbers are right. They're in the TSB, but I can't access it at the moment to verify.)

Yes "normal" I would guess haha. Its just weird that I never had a wiper motor break in any car and I've had new and older cars. The wipers are still working on my 1896 Corolla GTS knock on wood.
I ordered one already and I am just waiting to see if its the revised part. Hopefully it is not that hard of a job.
