Windshield Repair Question
I just had my third windshield chip repaired. GEICO arranges for Safelite to do the job at no cost.
After the other two repairs, I was left with a very small round spot. This time I have the round spot but still have one of the "spider legs" on the glass. It's about 1/2" long and I can't feel it on the outside, but I can see it when the sun shines on it and I'm wondering if that's going to spread. Should I call them back to redo?

Don't know about everyone else here, but in Arizona, glass coverage has $0 deductable by law. Keep poking it until it spiders out and then tell GEICO to give you a new one Trending Topics
Windshield Replacement
I just posted this in another thread. Check with your auto insurance company. With Geico, I had full glass coverage, at $0 deductable, as stated in the above post, in Connecticut with my plan. I have had my car for about 2 years and it had minor but extensive pitting all over the windshield. I figured since it was free I would get it replaced. I got a new OEM Acura windshield, and it was done by an autoglass company, at the dealership, while my car was in for its 30,000 mile service. Be aware, however, that there is always risk with this. Whenever something is disassembled, it never goes back together as tight as from the factory. All my windshield trim is pretty good, but some of the molding does not quite fit together as well as it did before the replacement. I am mainly speaking of the interfacing pieces at the bottom sides of the windshield where trim overlaps.
Definitely ask for a new windshield, demanding an OEM windshield, referencing your repair issues. Don't have safelite do it either, have a reputable glass company in your area do it recommended first by your dealer. Then see if your insurance company works with them.

Safelite is the McDonald's of auto glass shops. I've had several winshields replaced at independent shops on my previous Honda that Geico paid for. Being an Accord SE-i, the glass was ONLY available from a Honda dealer parts depts at $425 for just the glass.
