Why is that most people have issues with Driver's side HID head lights?

I was searching the forum and looks like most people are having driver's side HID issues.

Mine blew and after installing a new bulb today, checking the bulb to make sure it lit up, and then 2 hours later, it stopped working.

Been searching this forum and most people are having issues with driver's side HID... I mean, both lights usually turn on at the same time and have similar life, why is that people are having more issues with driver's side?

Also, I couldn't find any good solution to my issues..

its either the ballast and/or ignitor. i had the same problem with mine, but it was both headlights. the ballasts were fine, but the ignitors needed replacement. they are pricey from the dealer ( ive been quoted 500-650 each ) but i found a few sellers of used ones on ebay. i found a set of two from seller philipsxenon, but usps lost the package.

a cheaper route is buying the kit from hidextra.com, but you will have to do slight modding (iirc) to make them work. there are a few that have gone with this route, im sure they will chime in

I have been researching this myself. I found this site, http://www.performanceacuraparts.com...=33129-SCC-003 . Igniters between $80 & $172. I hope this helps.

Interesting find on your research. I had never noticed a pattern that most people have problem with the drivers side, but only one of mine has ever had a problem, and guess which side it was?

When mine went, it was the ignitor and I got a replacement combo ballast/ignitor from eBay for under $200.

Just a guess, but the passenger side light is shielded just a bit more by other parts of the car, such as the windshield fluid repository. I can't imagine that makes too much difference though.
