When turning on the car in the morning after its been in the garage over night, and then driving to school there is no problem. after leaving school, when i accelerate i can hear a whisting/hissing type of noise. is this normal? is it because the car has heated up? the only modification to the car is an AEM CAI.

 

anyone have any idea? i tried accelerating while having the car in park, but there was no whistling sound. does this mean it has something to do with a pulley? and if so how come the sound stops after having driven for awhile

 

the sound could very well be the intake. My fujita whistles/hisses depending on the amount of throttle I give the car

 

yeah man, my K&N typhoon whistles, only when accelerating and usually only with 1/4 to 1/2 throttle. It's this metallic whistle that I am quickly growing to despise. I might go back to the stock box modded out...

the whistling noise only happens after the car has been baking in the heat for awhile though. like on a cool morning there is no whistle. is that the same for you guys?

 

like another poster said. This whistle is from the CAI. It is normal for TL intakes to produce this sound. It usually is most noticable on light throttle.

 

mine only whistles on 1/2 pedal depression between 2000 and 3000 rpm. If I grandma drive or if I romp on it, no whistle. really sucks (haha pun FTW) because I typically drive at pedal 1/2 way down.
