Hello,

First time posting...

I started the wife's car this morning and when I turned the Ign key, the starter engaged but would not stop turning however it sounded like the car was trying to fire. I turned the key off and tried again with same results. I finally tried and just let it run and the car finally started running (really rough though) almost like it was flooded. Any ideas as to what would cause the Starter to stick? Is is a bad Starter or the Ign switch or something else? Thanks for any advice...

could be either. After you start it, try wiggling the key and see if that makes a difference.

Thanks for the reply... next time I'll do the "key" thing and see what happens...

The starter not disengaging is normal. You don't have to hold the key till it starts. Just a quick turn and let it go, and the car will crank for 30 seconds, or until its started.

The not starting quickly is abnormal, of course, but your starter is behaving.
