The "A1 service due soon" was displayed this morning when I started the car. Underneath the outside temperature indicator there is this symbol that is square and has a 1 next to it. What is this indicating? It is not in the manual.

You've got 1 message, since you can change the display to not show the "A1" reminder. It's a reminder reminder, I guess.

 

It means make an appointment with the dealer to get your oil changed.

 

The "square" is an envelope—notice the diagonal lines inside the "square." It's a graphical way of saying you have one message.

 

rotate your tires and change your oil, then reset the indicator = no more message and save some $.
