What is the biggest difference between the Duralast Gold brake pads vs the CMAX?

I am planning on replacing my brakes soon since I hear squeaking when I lightly push the brake pedal.

Which one would be the better option and what is the biggest difference?

looks like the Gold pad material is made out of carbon.
while the cmax pad material is made out of ceramic.

both will stop the car fine and smoothly, but one will have more dust over the other.
the ceramic pad will have the less dust of the two.

2nd point, the CMAX pads have a rubber shim on the back, to prevent squeaking from metal to metal contact.

so, if you would like to have minimal dust while having the quieter of the two pads, spend the extra 20 for the cmax

The main thing for me is the noise. I hate the squeaking noise. I will probably go with those ones.

make sure you or the mechanic performing the job still greases the back side of the pad and all shims, to ensure NO SQUEAKAGE!

Cmax are incredibly low dust and I've never heard a peep from them. Not sure about all their brakes, but you also buy them once and exchanges are free.
