Keep Right Except to Pass
How far have you generally driven and how fast are you generally going when it happens? If it's sort of a slight groan or a grunting sound, for lack of a better description, then it's normal. There is an ABS system self-test that occurs shortly after you drive off that makes a slight noise and that does not repeat. From your description where you mention that it doesn't happen again, I suspect that might be what you're hearing, though if you could describe the sound it would help.
The fact that you say it doesn't happen at other turns suggests to me that it's probably not a CV issue. The CV joints on my old 1986 Legend went bad and the noise was quite audible at every corner that was more than a gentle curve, sounded almost like popcorn popping in hot oil or in the microwave (without the microwave fan noise, obviously).

OOOOOH
Oh yeah, he's definitely talking about the clicking CV-joints.
My car does it too, only when they are cold. Once car is up to temp, they never do it.
I thought this was a common problem, no? Certainly moreso with lowered cars, as the geometry has been altered.
But I don't think it means you necessarily have to replace your axles because you hear the clicking when they are cold.

Yea my guess is its a whining and only happens when he applies pressure to turn the steering wheel in any direction. Notice he says it happens on his first turn. I bet its air getting into his power steering system via the 99 cent o ring.
