Weird sound... what is it???

So lately I’ve been hearing this noise coming from my car but it gets louder when I put it in drive for some reason... also it gets a little noticeable when I go over bumps or potholes. I lifted the hood and noticed the car sounds a little rough as well. My car has about 108,000 miles and I have a feeling it could be either the alternator, or some belt. Any ideas what it could be ?

Pretty sure you answered your own question. There are lots of things in the engine bay that make noise. Lots of things spin and move. Without more details, your guess is no different than our guess.

It's a squeaking sound, but it tends to get louder when I shift into drive.
