Have a 2007 TL-S automatic, when i put the car in reverse i get a sound that sound like the parking break is stuck, cant really describe it but to say it is a grinding bassy sound that stops after a few seconds, doesnt always happen either, only when the car sits for more than a few hours, will take it to the delaer to have them check it out, but was wondering if anyone else had the same sound

Check if it is the side mirror tilting down on reverse.

 

Nope, but thanks, it definetly coming from under the car, up front, i have the mirror selection in the middle, and have neither mirror tilting

I have the same problem, haven't been able to figure it out yet cause its intermittent.

 

Please keep us informed about this noise problem! My new TL-S also makes this noise. I am so glad to hear of others having this problem, because I thought my 2007 TL-S was the only one! It has been at the dealer for nearly thirty days, and they have only been able to reproduce the noise the morning after I brought it in.

It figures that it made this squealing - grinding sound on the very day the car was returned to us, and I am about at my wits end because of this and other problems.

Our car also illuminated the low oil pressure indicator on one occasion, but the dealer could not reproduce the low oil pressure situation. The service department removed the oil pan & valve covers, and inspected the crank and cams, but could not find any problems. I really hope your dealer can find the source of this noise, and you will share it with us!

I really want to like and trust this car, but it has not given me much reason to believe in it so far.
