okay so whenever i turn the steering left or right, i get this hissing noise. I want to know if this this normal or if there's something wrong with the car.

all the way to the left and all the way to the right likely is your powersteering mortor if that is what you are talking about. I've not really noticed it in my car but i'll have to pay attention next time but I know my father's jeep does it if that is that sound I'm assuming you're talking about.

 

There's a TSB out for this. It's called something like "inlet joint" replacement.

 

even the slightest turn of the steering wheel makes the noise. and what's tsb?
