I have and 04 TL with 25K miles on it and it makes a weird high pitch chatter/squel noise when you push the gas some. It is very hard to explain but it seems to only happen during warm up for the first few minutes. It onlt happens when the gas is part way down, if u floor it goes away and if u let off the gas it goes away. It is most noticible going up a large hill at the front of my neighborhood. It almost seems as though it is comming from under the car and not the engine, although it is very hard to tell. I am going to have the dealer look at this when it goes in for some other stuf soon just wondering if I could get any info from all the helpful people here first. Thanks!

It isn't really a ping it is more of a whistle type sound. I will still look though Thanks!

Does it happen more (or is it louder) when it's wet out? Does it go away after you drive for a bit? If you start the car with the A/C on, is it louder than if the A/C is off?

Thanks for replying, I have notice it dissappears after sometime and is intermittent, its usually really noticable when the engine is first started up from cold and is usually between 2500/3000 RPMS when accelerating, I have had my car at the dealership for 3 days now and they can't find the issue.

This really makes me wonder about Acura build quality now. Thanks.

I have begun to notice this as well. It sounds like a a slight whistling while accelerating. I have an appointment on Monday with the dealer so hopefully they can figure it out. I only have about 1,400 miles on the car.

Has anyone had this issue resolved??

still haven't taken it to the dealer yet but soon lol. So i drove it some more today and it is really easy to hear, there shouldn't be a problem with the dealer finding it. HuKaShI it might be the same thing as urs, it seems very familiar but I don't think mine does it on wot it seems to be around 3k rpms, i will check wot again sometime and make sure though. It does kinsa sould like a turbo though. It might be the heat sheild? some people on here have had that be the problem, Anyways i will update u when it goes to the dealer.
