wdp paint mismatch???
wdp paint mismatch???
does anyone notice a slightly different shade of the pearl white paint going from the rear quarter panels to the rear bumper? i noticed it as soon as i brought the car home but thought it was dirt / salt as the weather in jersey has been crappy.
when i cleaned my car for the first time last week (i've had it for about 2 months now and this was the first nice weekend), it is clearly a shade off.
has anyone else had this problem? i understand the paint fades differently on metal vs plastic body parts, but the car is brand new.
wondering if the dealer will replace the bumper - I clearly don't want it repainted as paintwork always tarnishes a car and leads to questions when trying to one day sell it.

I dont think its only WDP. iv seen my frens gunmetal tl like that..AM? anyway yah. the rear and front bumper looks to be a lil bit off from the body. im guess its the material? if it bothers u that much. take it to a body shop and have them redo the entire car. but i dont think its worth it.
Oh btw i have WDP and i have the same problem. but it dont bother me that much.

i most certainly will not pay a dime to have it fixed. i would have to imagine the dealer would be responsible to correct the problem under warranty, no?
i'm not sure how good acura is with honoring customer quality complaints.

Some are worse than others. Mine is noticable in some light and nearly un-noticable in other lighting.
It's "standard" on WDP, so don't hold you breath on the dealer or Acura doing anything for you.
That said, search user Chrissy78 (I think) and her WDP mis-match thread. I think she *did* get her dealer to re-paint the rear bumper (something like 3 times until she accepted it).
My suggestion is to INSPECT the car BEFORE you take delivery. If you don't like the bumper paint, threaten to walk over to the BMW dealer next door. That might get you some new paint in a hurry.
BTW - It's a problem with ASM/SSM as well. The darker the color, the less likely the problem.
