Major Power Loss ShorRam Intake

I have a problem with my car losing power as soon as it gets stuck in the traffic and when i driven for a while. Wich i belive relates to the K&N short ram intake i have installed. Then again it might not be since i used to feel that kind of behavior when i had the stock intake on but im not so sure. I had only one incident last year where i was driving from New Jersey to Charlotte and it was really a hot day and cause i was driving the car without any brakes really, the car i guess got too hot and i couldnt get it past 70-80 miles an hour no matter how much i pushed the gas. I never took it to the dealer.(i had the stock intake )

When im talking about power loss i mean that it is really noticeable since when i just start driving in the morning the car pulls really hard and the growl sounds fast. but when the engine heats up from driving and especially from being in the traffic i get a major power loss in the lower rpms especially. Wich is mostly noticeable in the 3rd. 4th and 5th gear. It loses so much torque that the growl from the intake sounds so much differenet and slower sucking kind of sound.

Now this upcoming weekend i wanna extend it to a full cai as it suppose to be and see what happens but im afraid it might not solve my problem and then if i take to the dealer hes gonna blame it on the intake.

I hope someone can relate and help me out here.

thanx

Sorry to hear about your problem. But in ANY situation, if you can't go past 70-80mph, then something is definitely wrong. The problem can't be attributed to the intake alone. There has to be something else wrong with it. I feel you on taking it to the stealership because of your aftermarket intake, but I think that's the best thing for you to do here. Installing a CAI won't help the situation, IMHO. Hope you get this fixed!
