battery warrantee

Had a new battery a year ago under warrantee and now the new one wont keep a charge. I was thinking the new one was covered longer than the original but the guy said it would still be 80 to replace it. I think he said they cover 25% of it. that doesnt seem very good if it had a 4 or 5 year warrantee. I think it might have been 60 months.
you guys think this seems odd?
