water leak in rear passenger floor!!

got back from a weeks trip last night, and my car was parked at my workplace. Turns out a major rainfall flooded the p-lot and when I got to my car the rear left side floor was soggy!! cant believe that shit! For some reason ,(luckily!) I had two floor mats on that side, they were soaked in water, I guess it took most of the leak but its still water in and under the base mat. Spent last night drying up what I could and I had a fan blowing all night but this morning its still soggy! From what i could tell the water went up halfway to the rim center or about there.
Any tips u guys have to dry my car out, please let me know!!
(a collegue's CLS 550 died as he tried to drive out during the worst and ended in a 2 feet deep water hole, engine hydrolocked, and water just flooding inside.. so could be worse I guess...)

you can use a shop vac if you have one and suck the water out of the carpeting. It'll help, but it won't get all of it out. Also it helps to spray in a little carpet cleaner when using the shop-vac so it can help kill any bacteria in the carpet from the water.

Was the water only in the rear of the car or the whole car? If the rear only, there's a TSB for that with a loose grommet on the rear. Search and you'll find it.

Wow, you'd think that an employer who has a workfoce able to drive nice cars would be considerate enough to give them a good parking lot to leave them in.

So you think the water came in from below and you don't have a leaking door seal or sunroof? I would just wet-vac the carpet and then soak the rest up with a towel (maybe even a Sham-Wow. Vince seems to have good luck with those.) Then, like you said, a fan. If you can pull some trim pieces and lift the carpet, you can get under it and dry the padding, also. I left my sunroof open in my old legend and soaked EVERYTHING. Seats, console, floors, everything. It took days to dry it all out with a fan blowing in the sunroof and halogen lamps on the dash. Of course, someone got brave and took advantage of the free stereo. I hope it had water in it too.

thanks guys, tried the shop vac this morning and think i got some of the water out. I also have positioned 2 fans thats been blowing the whole day directly in the footwell. its seems better now, just real moisty when I push the carpet inn.... Yeah i tried to save the company a few bucks by parking there....last time I tell you ! I keep the fans overnight there and check again tomorrow. I am hesitant to call Acura to have them inspect the car, a flood damage on my carfax is not a good thing right? or what u think ?
Also i checked the whole car today in daylight, there is no other visible sign of water, engine bay is as clean as before too. Can the water really come up from the floor pan ?
