Water from AC condenser - Problem?
Water from AC condenser - Problem?
Hi,
I have a 2007 TL-S with ~ 7,000 miles.
We just recently painted our garage floor with a water based epoxy paint. A couple nights ago I went out for a drive (I had the AC on) and then parked it in the garage. The next morning, there was a small wet area where the water drips from the AC condenser ... what concerned me was the paint was lifting and peeling up on the garage floor in this area. I inspected the area and the remaining liquid was clear, looked like water and had no smell (yesterday I confirmed that it definately is the water from the AC condenser that caused this).
I was thinking possibly that the garage floor had some old oil on it (our old car used to leak oil) and perhaps the paint wasn't fully bonded to the floor in this area. Any thoughts and should I be concerned?
Thanks in advance.
Dan

I wouldnt be concerned, its just water! No other fluids such as oil or trans fluid or powersteering fluid shouldnt eat paint. The only fluid that does is brake fluid. Maybe poor quality paint?
Garage Floor Paint Problem. Not a car problem.
- The paint wasn't cured, or;
- The AC Condenser water re-wetted the paint, or;
- The Paint did not adhere in that area, or;
- Some combination of the above.
