VSA light on with bunch of codes
VSA light on with bunch of codes
VSA light came on on my 04 TL. Took it to the mechanic and he said the car is throwing the following codes..

What could potentially cause so many codes at one? He replaced the g sensor and most of the codes are gone but 64-1 and 25-1 codes sill stay on. Could this be related to an old battery or something else? Thanks.

Yeah. Try replacing your battery and run the codes again. Electrical systems can be so finicky sometimes and they'll throw the most odd codes that have nothing to do with one another. Also add brake fluid or it's time to replace your brake pads.
Thanks. Even though the battery is about 7+ years old, I never had an issue because of it. I will check with my mechanic if replacing the battery would do the trick. The car has new brake fluid and the pads are fine as far as I know...but will look into that nonetheless.
What is a "g sensor"? Does the car drive fine as if there were no check engine light on? Did your mechanic reset the codes? Have you tried resetting the codes yourself to see if they come back and how quick they come back if they do?
Before you replace the battery, get it checked at your local auto parts. Some do it for free along with reading check engine lights. I think that the accuracy of the codes will depend on the quality of the scanner used to read them.
