VSA issue

Hi,

Couple days ago I noticed the VSA light and traction (triangle with !) come on briefly. Tried toggling the VSA switch with no success, but it went away after a couple minutes. Today the same thing happened, except the lights stayed on until I turned the car off. When I turned it on, lights are extinguished. Any idea what's causing this? Car runs fine otherwise.

its happening at random or when you lose traction?
I would inspect brake lines and vsa lines.

Read this. Lots of "It could be this" in this thread.

justnspace- it was at random.

NCTL05- one suggestion was to wash out the wheels. We're having some work done on our driveway so its a little muddy. I'm wondering if some mud might have gotten on the sensor. I'll rinse it out and see if it comes back. If it does I'll take it in to have it checked.

Here are all of the systems that could be affected. I have a feeling that it would get expensive if your dealer actually took the time to hunt down the problem.

Some trouble shooting guides for the symptoms you described. You'll need a volt meter.

If neccesary, this is a procedure in one of the trouble shooting guides.

no ABS light. It happened again on the highway. Just cruising along and it came on and stayed until I got home.

Thanks for the scans I'll run through it in the next couple days and see what I can find.

Once you go through those trouble shooting guides and everything turns out ok, then I can scan the diagnostic guides for each system.

BTW in the Trouble shooting guides it says to check the 47P connector. That is the one that plugs into the VSA unit.
