VSA and Engine light just turned on

Just bought a used 2007 Acura TL base model with 105k mi. and have been having some issues almost every week... and I bought it 2 weeks ago. Based on the carfax it has been babied its whole life so I didn't think it would be this troublesome. Anyway, the problem of the week is that I was driving and all of a sudden the VSA OFF light and engine light came on. Has anyone had this issue? Any tips on what to check? Please help!

troubleshooting is the first thing you should do!
take the vehicle to an autoparts store to get the check engine light read, its free unless you live in California.

or the 2nd thing you can do is; clear the code by removing negative battery cable for a minute or two.
if check engine light and VSA light come back on, you know you have a real issue.

Thanks Justnspace. After I got to work I started the car again and it sounded like it was having trouble starting (hard clicking sounds then start) BRAND new battery as that was my issue last week... It would catch eventually but the engine light would come on. I'll take it to a shop today. Appreciate your help.

the check engine light code should give you a clue or a key to whats wrong.
without knowing the code, your guess is as good as mine!

you're looking for a code that starts with P0xx.
and the OBDII reader will also give a description of that code. be sure to make note of the P0xx code and its description.
if shop cant help you out further, report back with code and we can work it out together

Accelerator pedal position sensor P2138 2005 ... Sounds like it could be this. I had a similar problem with my car a month ago. VSA light and Engine light came on. The car wouldn't accelerate properly.
