Exclamation VSA, Check Engine Light Problems

It started about a week ago while I was driving home from work. I had turned off traction control(VSA OFF) when I had to make a quick merge onto a highway from a dead stop. Sometime later(20 min.), I looked down and the VSA light and the Check Engine light came on, and the car was driving like crap. Easing on and off the gas made the car jerk violently, but at the same time, I had very little power. The car would get up to highway speeds, but take forever and a day to get there. And she wouldn't rev above 3000rpm even in neutral. I got home and cleared the VSA lights but the check engione light stayed on for a day or two. Well, now it's happening once a day. It comes on and stays on at various times. I can clear it by turning the car off but it comes right back within 5-10 minutes. The car has 70K miles on it, so warranty is not an issue. I know I'll be paying for something to be fixed, I just would like to know what it is. Please help guys.

You'll need to start by getting the fault code and that can be done at the local AutoZone or part store that supplies the service. The code will supply you with the system that needs attention, or at least what the ecu has retained in storage.
