VSA ABS Brake Dash Lights On After Replacing Wheel Bearings Rear Rotors
Brought my 2004 Acura TL into the mechanic after experiencing whirring noise when exiting/entering highway speeds. No lights were lit on my dash.
Mechanic replaced front wheel bearings and rear rotors (rotors were worn). Drove off and everything ran smoothly for about 2 km. Then VSA, ABS, Brake lights on my dash suddenly came on and stayed on. I also noticed a faint metal whirring/grinding sound.
Drove back to mechanic and reseating the wheel bearing resolved the noise, but the lights mentioned above stayed on.
He has the car now, gave me a loaner.
Anyone else experience this issue before from replacing wheel bearings?

You mechanic ought to be checking that for your too.
Might be related to wheel speed sensor(s).

^^ What he said... I've heard of people accidently damaging this sensor when they work on the wheeel hub assembly, as the sensor (I think) is on the back of the hub assembly. If this sensor is damaged, ABS will not function correctly, and the warning light comes on... If the ABS system is disabled, VSA will not function correctly, so the VSA lights come on whenever the ABS system is disabled.

Thanks for the quick reply guys.
The mechanic did mention something about having a tough time getting at the wheel bearings because the ABS was in the way. He mentioned he had to use WD40 for something.
I'll mention the wheel sensor IF he comes back to me saying he doesn't know what's wrong.

i actually had the wheel bearing and inner tire rod replaced. as soon as i started driving VSA and ABS light came on. i took it back to him and he got reading for bad speed sensor. he replaced it but the lights still came on. now he will be opening the thing back.
dont know if he put the wheel bearing backwards or its not the right wheel bearing to install?

ask him if he followed the service manual procedure (brown ring toward knuckle). If he gives you a blank stare or hesitates, you have your answer.

Try this; Error Code 84 - VSA sensor neutral position memorization - Acura TSX Forum
I got VSA light lit on dash after tire rotation and subsquent code scanning. Have no clue how the DTC was set, but above procedure fixed the error.
Very simple and takes only a few minutes, you have nothing to lose!

Three Wheelin'
Yeah the mechanic installed it backwards. I did the same thing and its not that hard to mess it up.
Stupid me
I reset the VSA and ABS code with my scan tool..You need a scan tool that can read ABS codes to clear it.
