Vibration while driving

Has anyone experienced vibration while driving your TL? If so, what was the problem? Mine only does it while driving, not when applying the breaks. I took my car into the tire shop today to have the vibration checked. They said I needed to replace some tires that have worn down on the inside and that was causing the vibration. My tires are 235/35zr-19 91W Proxes. Within 1 or 2 years ago, they said my tires are wearing on the inside and told me I needed some after market part put on to keep them from wearing down that way. Why now am I having this same problem again? So, I drove the car home and think I noticed a little bit of a difference, but the vibration could still be there. I also have to take the car back next Saturday to see if it needs the alignment done. They couldn't do the alignment today since it was to busy there.

I'm not sure if I understand what your asking. I just looked at my paperwork and we purchased new tires in July 2007, had the alignment done and the camber kit put on August 2007. This is the first time replacing the tires since having the camber kit installed.

Are you lowered? Where is the wear .. front or rear?

Camber kit put on the back?? Alignment done after the lit put in?

Sorry but your posts are a little hard to follow.

The car has never been lowered. The wear is on the inside of the rear tires.

I'm assuming the camber kit was put on the rear b/c they told us we needed it since the rear tires are wearing on the inside.

The tires were put on first in July 2007 and at that time they said we should get the alignment done and suggested we have the camber kit put on (which they had to order the kit b/c it wasn't in stock), then we had to schedule an appt. for the alignment after the tires were already installed on the car (b/c this tire shop only does alignments by appt.)

New Tires-July 2007
Alignment - August 2007
Camber Kit - August 2007

I guess I didn't mention in the original post that new tires were put on the car today.

If your not lowered and there has been no reser suspension damage there is no way you should need a rear camber kit.

Inside rear tire wear on stock suspension is usually caused by incorrect toe in.

I don't believe there was any rear suspension damage. Someone slightly bumped my car almost two years ago and we had the bumper replaced by a body shop and that was it. What is considered incorrect toe?
I have the info from the alignment done in August 2007.
Rear: Left Toe
Actual - 0.05in / Before - 0.11in / Specified Range - 0.00in 0.08in

Rear: Right Toe
Actual - 0.03in / Before - 0.07in / Specified Range - 0.00in 0.08 in

Rear Total Toe
Actual 0.08in / Before - 18in / Specified Range - 0.00in 0.16in

Blue,

I'm chasing vibrations after putting 19's and H&R Sport springs a few months ago. My new Koni yellows are sitting in the garage and I will take back to the shop once the suspension is 4.0

Couple questions for you:

-Are you certain it's not in the drivetrain? Putting the car in Nuetral at speed when it's vibrating will tell you. If it still vibrates in Nuetral, it's in the running gear.

-How are your shocks?

My shop told me I needed a camber kit, too, but I had the exact same wheel/tire combo as another member and he had no issues. I've also read Mr. Heel Toe's article on alignment and why we probably don't need camber kits. I'm pretty sure mine is a cross between blown shocks and a balancing problem. After I get the new shocks on, I'm going to have them check the balancing.

I had them toe mine a little past spec and it helped a bit. Realize with lower profile 19's, you're going to feel a lot more going on in the road and the TL had pretty good (I like it) communication with the road in stock form.

I haven't tried putting the car in neutral when it vibrates. I will try it and let you know what happens. I have had these same rims and tires on the car since a month after I bought it in August 2004 brand new. I have never noticed the car to have this vibration issue until now. But I'm also irritated that the tire shop told me I needed that camber kit put on the car to stop the wear on the inside of the rear tires and it's still doing the same thing now after the kit was put on. These tires are so expensive and it seems you never get the full wear out of them b/c of some problem like this.

Where can I find this tsb? The car is no longer under manufacturer warranty, but I didn't buy the extended warranty. Would it still be covered or do I have to pay?

The TSB also covers the "cause" .. they prolly won't cover the tires but might cover the cause ... which is the bump stops.

Okay. Thanks for everyones help. I'm going to call the Acura dealer where I bought the car tomorrow and ask them if they will cover the bumps for the shocks. I'll let you know what they say.
