Well..

City (driving conservatively) - 23
City (~1/2 OT - WOT) - 15
HWY (65-75) - 40
HWY (75-85) - 31

AVG (200+ miles) - 24

I put in CERMET.. I've seen 10% gains in my MPG

btw.. not sure if this the right category

Well it could depend on a bunch of factors. But the way I drive and the fact that I drive probably 70% city 30% hwy, I get like 21 mpg (according to the MID but we all know that can be deceiving).

Winter gas, I get 23mpg combined
Summer gas, 26 mpg combined

You'll get better after the summer gas starts flowing again

between 21-23 MPG in city/highway driving. If I drive like a grandpa, I can average around 25-26 lol............but who wants to do that when pushing that pedal is so addicting

Question Majofo? What did you pay for the CERMET? How long is it supposed to last?
Do you have a right up on it here. Or anywhere else?

I've had it in for about 1k miles now and I've seen about a 7-10% gain. I took photos starting out trying to document the gains. I always travel the same stretch of highway and do a rolling reset. I went from an average 36 mpg @ 65. I just tested over the weekend and I hit 40 mpg @ 65. I made sure on my initial tests that I had good tire pressure and my variables were the same. It's cool because the trip computer displays miles driven and avg. mph so it's definitive proof.

My buddy became a distributor so he sold it to me at face costs ($100) but I believe they sell it online for $130. I was skeptical but I'm seeing gains. My buddy told me he saw gains after 1.5k to 2k miles. He drives a Tahoe and a Tacoma. He has about 20k on each now and has seen an average gain of 15%. It supposed to be good for 50k miles. I haven't taken a long trip since putting it in but I may do some traveling to show higher gains.

With the gas prices down I haven't made my money back on it yet.. but when it was $4.. it would have only taken 3 months to make back the money at 10%. I guess it'll be 6 months.. and I swear.. the engine ran smoother.. idk.. maybe it's psychological.. Once I hit 2k miles I'm going to do a write-up with pics.

Here are some links: (big gains w/ diesel engines ~30%)

cermetlabs.com

If you're interested I would do some heavy research on it.. it took a while for me to decide. It's actually pretty cool how the technology was discovered. Russian oil drillers would break many of their drill bits while searching for oil but during one of their digs the bits didn't break and when they removed the bits they came back harder and cleaner. They drilled through amorphous clay which under the high heat and pressure had ceramically coated the bits. So cermet is like a cheap way to ceramically coat the engine..

very interested in CERMET now.... I wonder if it would make sense to SeaFoam the engine first. Any thoughts on this?

It wouldn't hurt.. I used Berrymans's B-12 about two months prior.. not for pretreating but because it felt like my engine was running a bit rough.. I'll ask my buddy.. I'm like an apprentice (ie. newb) compared to my buddy.. he's had 50+ cars and built / rebuilt about of dozen of them.. 15 years w/ GM / Delco.

He's innovative.. He's doing water injection on one.. Hydrogen on another.. Right now he's testing out these capacitive plugs - Pulse Plugs & Pulstar VS. MSD VS. Iridiums.. He always has something cool going on.

but anyways.. if it cleans up the deposits it makes sense since cermet adheres to the walls.. The only thing is you need to be on a fresh oil fill before applying cermet.

Thats what I was thinking.

However, if you add SeaFoam to your oil and get it changed after, there could be some residual Seafoam and I'm not sure if or how that would react with the CERMET.

I'll ask.. I used the tank additive to clean out the fuel injectors so my application wasn't direct.. It doesn't seem like residual amounts of it would hurt.. am I wrong or is it basically acetone like B-12?

Mpg

07 TL type S, I get 17 city, 34 to 35 highway! Tail wind helps. Highway mpg always above 30 mpg. No additives just the Gucci gas (93 octane, in Texas) and keep around 70 mph.

Combined varies on amount of highway, like others in the low to mid 20s.

I had an 04 TL that got the same on the highway and slightly better city, about 20. Alas, wrecked it and got the S.

04 TL - I get 23 winter and 25 summer. Mostly highway (local state routes with stop lights). All highway driving is 30 mpg.

I have 41K in 14 months. LOTS of highway driving. If I set the cruise at 74 I can get over 31. BUT, I am usually in the 90+ range and get 22-24. But, I don't hammer down on it... WHen I do.. I get wicked bad mileage. Coming from Tenn to Alabama, going through GA, I don't think i was below 120 the entire stretch... Got around 12... Reset it so I can see what it would do.
